Ocean Sands at York Beach

Great location - close to the beach! We did an early check in which was $100, so on the expensive side but we were ok with paying that. But was disappointed that when they gave us a room, it was not ready for us so then they had us switch our stuff. Although the manager was helpful this is something that was frustrating when we paid an extra $100.

Pool was really nice

New owner are nickel-and-diming everything. Been staying here for years are now it’s over $100 more per night for basically the same experience. Once lenient on early/late parking surrounding a paid stay, now charging exorbitantly for it.

Beautiful Oceanside Resort. The only challenge is the bathrooms are extremely small in the standard rooms. Otherwise, great family resort!

Room was very small for 3 guests. Cafe on site very convenient. Cant beat the location

Room was very clean and comfortable! I would like to see a small table with two chairs added! Staff was very friendly!! Outdoor pool was nice and clean! I loved all the updates!! Mattress was a little soft! We will definitely book again!!!

Emily at check in was wonderful, very kind and welcoming. The location is perfect, right across from Long Sands beach. Cute little store if you need coffee or snacks. Rooms have been recently updated and the decor is really cute, beachy vibe. Permanent food truck for quick meals on property. We stayed in main building on 1st floor. A lot of noise from above. They need to figure out some upkeep to common areas especially after a busy season. I’ve stayed at half a dozen motels on Long Beach, this being the biggest property I’ve stayed at and again the location is 10/10, recently updated but materials chosen have not held up and they are going to need to refresh some major bathroom items or next season will be rough. Might have just been our room but seems like material and functional design choices were just off. The recently updated rooms and price deals make it a great option.

Super clean and modern and beautiful hotel! The pool was nice. The staff were super friendly and kind and helpful. Would have loved more of an ocean view but it was a really nice room and location!

The fixtures in the bathroom needed to be affixed better. Add more hooks to be able to hang jackets etc.

Second time staying here. Love the access to the beach. Pool is nice. Had an issue with our key cards but it was fixed right away. Would definitely stay again.

Great place if you are travelling with your dog. Nice decor and very clean. Great beachfront location. Convenient coffee shop/food truck to satisfy your cravings. Overall, satisfied and would stay again. Things to improve: wifi could be better; only worked outside the room. Shower was tiny.

We booked one night here for 8/14/26. We booked thru expedia and it said it was a king room for 3 people. It was my wife, myself and our 20 year old son.. We assumed it had a pull out couch etc for the 3rd person. We were wrong. Before we checked in I asked at the desk because looking at pictures you could not see anything other then the king bed. Roman was working the desk and said he would make a note that we need an air mattress. When we actually checked in after 4:00pm he was no longer working and the person that checked us in was surprised that he would have said that. No air mattresses available. We checked in and it only got worse. The toilet still had skid marks in it, the entry sliding door had no screen like all the other rooms(we were in room 8) , the shower toiletries were just laid on the floor in the shower because there is no shelf to put them on or brackets to hold them in the slots on the back of them, and the shelves that were in the shower were angled downwards which makes no sense.. Can't make this stuff up. Also, there was only one ice machine located on the second floor of another building. The front desk was able to give us some crushed ice from another area which was very helpful and appreciated.. For the price we paid we were extremely disappointed. Currently waiting to see if we will get credited for the mattress we had to buy. Do not book a king suite thru expedia unless you are a throuple!! Will update with their response.

Shortly after we arrived we realized that the floors were extremely dirty, our feet were black. I told the front desk and they said they would clean them, they did not. We noticed after that the counters were still dirty, coffee splatters. Hair in the bathroom. Then after returning from the beach realized the tv wasn’t working. I went back and explained everything, someone came and fixed the tv, but I was handed nothing but an apology for the disgusting room. It was disappointing after spending almost $800 to stay in a dirty room.

The rooms were clean. Appreciated how they had a limited selection Starbucks on site. The issue we had is the integrity of policy. We booked in advance and realized that when we checked in, the price had dropped by half and they wouldn’t honor the updated rate. We only noticed it because we were going to book a second night and noticed the drastic price decrease. In my opinion, if you “catch” the update, management should honor that for you. Location was also kind of seedy. Parking was a mess and hard to find check-in and room.
