Castillo Inn at the Beach

Close to beach beautiful day

Great location; less than a block away from the bean, and about 15 minutes away from both wharfs. Their amenities were so great, however. The website showed a photo of a basket of small bottles of hair products and body lotion. The body soap, shampoo and conditioner were now in hanging bottles within the shower -- which was wonderful. But, the body lotion was no where to be found. I went to the General Manager and mentioned that there was no body lotion. Since I was flying in from Virginia, I have to minimize the amount of liquids I can carry and specifically did not pack any body lotion because it had been shown on their website. The Manager said they no longer carried it! Really! For the price I paid for this room, I would have expected to have ALL the usual toiletries. Two days later he provided me 4 small bottles of body lotion. Excellent. But I feel I was an exception just because I "complained". I was staying 5 days at the hotel to attend a wedding. The hotel needs a door sign that says "Room Needs to be Cleaned". They only provide a "Do Not Disturb" sign. So there were 2-3 days that my room wasn't cleaned. Even when I told the front desk I would be out for several hours mid-day, I came back to an unmade room and no clean towels. I had to hunt down a maid to give them my dirty towels and get new ones. Again, that could have easily been remedied with a door sign that said "Please Make Up Room" (or something equivalent.

Well, priced and decorated. BED was comfortable. Castillo and many hotels are amidst busy Beach area... that's good and noise from traffic eventually stops at latter bed time.

Great central location, close to the wharf and promenade, yet quiet and cozy. Parking is included in the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful We stayed for only one night, so unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to explore the city in more detail.

nice and clean, except the bathtub side board kept falling off - it did scare with a clang sound when you are in middle of shower. complained to the office clerk, they offered 10% discount.

Great location and easy parking. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and smelled nice! Water pressure was fantastic. Water filter available at the bathroom sink. Very convenient. Quiet, no sounds from nearby street. Rooms are carpeted - remember to bring your own slippers!
