Avania Inn of Santa Barbara

The hotel was very well maintained and the room was modern and clean. Location was equal distance to the marina and pier - about .5 miles. Room was quiet and the hotel felt safe. Good for families, friends or for a place near the beach. Not a couples places, though.

Easy check in, staff was friendly and helped us with the items we requested. Very happy with our stay

Amazing location

Do not stay here! Does not feel safe or clean. The noise from the room upstairs was beyond disturbing. It sounded like elephants walking back and forth all night. The upstairs door slamming was so loud it shook our room over and over again. We all agreed worse hotel we have ever stayed at. Paint peeling off the walls, dirty carpet. Incredibly rude staff at check in. You can tell this hotel cuts every corner possible. Your comfort, cleanliness and safety are not their concern. I am shocked that they have any good reviews. Go somewhere else at all costs.

Only comment is that rooms did not have a towel rack in bathrooms

1600$ for a week, it’d be nice to get room cleaned regularly. No hooks anywhere for towel or clothes, no extra pillows, stuff like that i’m used to for the price. just me…)

Good lighting in the bathroom. Nice shower, comfortable bed. Recently remodeled room. We enjoyed our stay!

Close to the marina, restaurants and downtown. There was a small park right across the street with homeless people. On our first night, one of them was incessantly banging loudly at some metal panel at side of the hotel in the middle of the night and went on for quite a while. Someone finally called the cops…staff not very sympathetic…was told to complain to the mayor! as they was nothing they could do

And I will preference this with I’ve stayed at this hotel a few times over the last 15yrs and never has this sort of mix up. There was room noise from some box outside our room which made sleeping a bit disruptive. The room was clean and the cleaning ladies all side hello each morning. Just the front desk staff could be a little more on it.

Great property in a great location. The rooms were clean and things are quiet. It’d be nice if the breakfast/coffee area opened earlier than 7:30 but no complaints beyond that.

The complementary breakfast was excellent, but the bath was out of shampoo and conditioner. I asked that it be replenished at the front desk and it was not done.

The room was fantastic! I had a few reservations when I found out staff isn’t there overnight but completely safe and so close to the beach!

The hotel is conveniently located to the freeway and beaches, without being too noisy or busy of a neighborhood. The room was spacious and clean, but in disrepair despite having a probably recent facelift. Staff were friendly and the pool area, though pretty small, was a nice surprise.

Great location to save $ verses staying at a spot directly on the beach. Short walk to everything which is nice. Thin doors/walls so hear a lot of the foot traffic and others who watch TV loud, but overall would recommend. They only clean rooms every 3 days (which is fine) - so just know this if only staying a short weekend. The staff is very helpful, available, and you can always get towels replenished no problem. The NETFLIX App doesn't work - Wifi not the best.
