However It’s unfortunate the surrounding area/neighborhood took away its appeal!! All the homeless people and people doing the “fent fold” were everywhere!! Definitely not a safe area for kids/teens! It’s too bad. Wish the city did something about that! Not an ideal place to be

Beautiful hotel. Nice spacious room. Lots of things to see close by.

The hotel location is not great and is a bit on the older side. Room was clean and has everything you need. The staff was helpful, but some were not as friendly as others. Beware of the $39 destination fee, which wasn't clear during booking. The redwood room was definitely the highlight!

Central location with multiple parking facilities close by. Breakfast is a la carte and was not covered fully by the free breakfast included.

I have been staying at the Clift for decades and it’s one of my favorite hotels in the world. I still love it for its location in my favorite city! Easy walking distance to theaters both movie and dramatic as well as fine dining and shopping around Union Square and market Street.

The property is a bit dated. Stains on walls in room. Endless fees and taxes which is typical for the city. I’d pay more to to stay elsewhere

Excellent experience! Excellent front desk staff on night one.

1. The onsite gym was the perfect size and equipment level. 2. The onsite evening bar "Bedroom Bar" 3. The onsite restaurant (Fredrick's), the staff here were amazing and the food was great too. 4. Room size and room facilities. 1. The reception staff were rude, having an issue and bringing it too them was very quickly closed down, not addressed as they moved onto the next customer. Booking.com also struggled to get a response from them. 2. It doesn't say anywhere on the website that the bed and breakfast has a 72 dollar limit per room. With a family of 5, 18% automatic tip and 10% food tax. this doesn't cover breakfast unless you are on your own in the room. 3. Having the issue with the breakfast for the first 2 days, spending another 150 dollars around 10:30-11:00, we weren't able to do the activities that we had planned.

We got a free room upgrade with our Expedia Gold membership and we loved our room/upgrade. It was very spacious and comfortable. We also got a $20 drink credit, which we used at the bar next to the lobby. It’s a cool bar and our bartender was really nice. The location is good too. Overall, a great experience.
