Hotel was well-located and very clean. Room was small (as advertised), but quite pleasant and comfortable. The hotel employees (front desk and elsewhere) were superior - friendly and extremely helpful. Off-street parking was available around the corner, with a special deal for hotel guests. Great value! Will stay here again.

The staff is super friendly. Room is tidy and clean

The hotel is very clean although it’s a little small. But that what we are paying for, no complain. The staffs were helpful, giving us helpful tips about the neighborhood.

The bed is old and not comfortable to me

Room was very nice & well maintained. Hallways & entrance could use a little work. The lack of free coffee was disappointing. Staff was super courteous & helpful.

The room was a lovely Art-Deco inspired room. It was small, but had lovely aesthetics. No refrigerator, and It was on the 6th floor, and the windows were opened with NO SCREENS ! I immediately locked the windows upon arrival. There was a COCKROACH in the bathroom on the wall. I photographed it. The real problem is this: I was told by the Hotel to park in front of the hotel, in-order to check in, and bring up my luggage. They had ONE PARKING SPACE white zoned that the OWNER of the Hotel and Deli was parked in, so I was forced to park behind the owner’s vehicle where HE had placed 2 Orange cones to block the white zone ! I had followed the Hotel’s directions, and I got as close to the cones as I could. I was still MORE THAN 18 inches away from the curb. All because of the very INCONSIDERATE OWNER OF THE BUILDING was taking up the ONE PARKING SPACE that I needed to check in, before moving my car to the parking structure. No free or included parking here. I got as close to the curb as I could, And I still, after only 15 minutes — (edited to add, - how exactly did the owner know that I parked there for “32 minutes" ? Did he have a stop watch ? If he was so attentive to the time frame, then why did he not help me, as I was one of his customers ?) It makes me wonder if he somehow benefits from people getting tickets, - or something like that. I GOT A BIG FAT PARKING TICKET ! HE BLOCKED THE CURB WITH CONES, in front of his own building, making it impossible for HIS Customers to check in. Is it even LEGAL for the Owner of the Hotel to block Geary Blvd’s White Zones, - with Traffic cones ? Now, I have to wait 90 days to see if SFMTA will side with me on this ticket issue. The owner saw ALL of this happening, and he did not lift a finger to help me! I would NEVER stay here again. So, be very careful if you book this hotel, if you do drive into the city. Also, I refuse to eat at his restaurant, - David’s Deli, for the same reason. Perhaps Mr. Touchstone Hotel should go back to business school, and take the class : Customer Service, - 101.

The night desk attendant was so lazy. Asked for an extra pillow and he didn’t even attempt to help. Just said no. Loud. Might as well have been sleeping outside. Without AC as well. Won’t be back.

Friendly staff, clean room

This last time I visited I got a not so good corner room. I did not like that there was a door next to the bed with no night stand leading to... ? Who knows where. That sucked but someone has to stay in that room I suppose. I will take the L this time because the previous times I have gotten a good room& I like this place. As a suggestion... that room sucks lol and I hope it gets remodeled.

Excellent service from the staff. Comfortable room.

The pictures shown in the web page were nothing like the real thing. There was a stain in the bathroom that I'm sure it was blood, hotel says it was a stain from the metalic bin, but the bin was made of plastic... they show very vage pictures and over expect , to find it has nothing to do. My body also hurts from the terrible bed. I requested a refund at least for.the second night but it was denied. I was offered to change the room but my wife had such a bad experience and cried all night... she begged me to leave... I wish they considered at least a partial refund but nothing... I really don't give negative reviews but if I don't at least get a partial refund it will be terrible. There is more to say like no air conditioning, a cart full parts let's in front of my door, smell was bad, etc.

Staff. Parking!

The staff here were so nice and accommodating. We were coming from out of town and wanted to explore the city after check out. They let us keep our bags at the hotel while we explored. The rooms were clean and properly maintained as well.

I think the rooms were very cozy and old school in a good way. I am from out of town and was worried this would be a dingy hotel, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really think we got our money's worth. Friendly staff as well. I wonder if they will ever add mini-fridges. We wanted to save some food for later. One of my friends got the impression the staff may not always be on the same page about policies a little bit, but not the end of the world.
