Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
About Elmbank York, Tapestry Collection by Hilton
A boutique Art Nouveau hotel in historic York. Minutes from the heart of the city, overlooking the Knavesmire Strays, lies the Elmbank Hotel, a unique 19th-century mansion with a rich history. Redesigned by Mackintosh contemporary, George Walton, the Elmbank hotel is home to one of the finest and most complete Art Nouveau collections in the UK. Here, impressive stained-glass, beautiful murals, and detailed stencils meld with modern and sophisticated facilities to provide a space of style, comfort, and interest. York’s ancient city walls can be reached in just 10 minutes’ walk, with a further 5 to 10 minutes’ walk taking guests to the historic attractions, including the spectacular York Minster. Alternatively there is a bus stop outside the hotel, and from there a bus in to town takes 3 minutes. York Railway Station is just a 10-minute walk or few minutes by car, and the Elmbank has limited parking. There is also a bus stop near the hotel, with sightseeing tours going in to town. York Racecourse is a few minutes' away.

We as a group of 8 people prefer the courtyard rooms even though the other rooms offered were of a higher standard.

We visited York for Ebor Races. The hotel's location was absolutely perfect for the race course and wasn't too far to walk from the city centre. The room was perfect for our overnight requirements, decent shower. Breakfast was one of the best we've had in a few years at a range of hotels. Your hot breakfast is cooked to order, comes out hot on warmed plates and everything is top quality including the sausages. All employees were friendly and polite. We will definitely return. Not a lot of room/space in the bathroom but absolutely fine for an overnight stay.

The hotel was beautiful snd thecstaff very friendky and helpful. Our room was amazing with the most comfortable bed we've ever slept in a hotel. Thec location was perfect, it took us about 10 munutes to walk into York itself. There was honestly nothing we did not like.
