Clean room. A bit small but that’s ok. Attentive staff easy check in and out. Only issue was A/C did not work. Room was at 73-75 during our stay

Room is dirty and outdated, lose paint and cracked bathtub. Amenities is okay, not the cleanest and a lot of group of people. Couldn’t really feel relaxing.

Everything was good. I just wish they didn’t charge $20 for parking.

The room was wonderful! Spacious and clean. The restaurant had great food. Friendly staff. Very relaxing stay. I love how dog friendly it is too. It’s tucked away where you feel far away but it’s actually pretty close to down town Santa Cruz and the boardwalk. We will definitely stay again!

I had asked that my room be cleaned and they asked what time I preferred that. I told them 10 am but nothing was ever done by 4:30 - very disappointing.

Spectacular and serene location in a hillside above Soquel. Nice pool and spa facilities; access to full gym, two pools, sauna & steam room. The hillside view rooms have balconies with lovely prospects into surrounding eucalyptus groves. Food at the hotel restaurant is competitively priced and delicious. The management, communications, staff attitude and service leave a lot to be desired particularly for a resort hotel at this price point. Our waitress at the View (restaurant) was passive aggressive and slow. For example, when I asked for more water she said she would bring it "next time she passed by" -- took forever during which time I saw her running food to another section while two bussers were standing and chatting. After we asked for our bill she never came & we finally had to ask the manager. Also, one morning I tried to order a cappuccino to go. The host refused to serve me ("not now") and directed me to the free coffee, which gave me acid stomach. (This was atb8 am and the restaurant was slow). Another example: the mechanical curtain in our room was stuck closed making the room dark and hiding the view for which we were paying. It took forever to get an answer (phone goes to a bot and tge front desk staff only texts). Didn't get fixed until the next day. Really dreadful communications and service that really marred what is otherwise a lovely facility.

Room was inadequate, especially for $667 per night.

Stunning. Great room—big, clean, sliding door opens up to the outdoors. Exceptional view from restaurant. Nothing

    Environment Old facility, need renovation.

It was a very clean, hospitable and relaxing resort. I will definitely be returning.

Not worth $500 a night! The place is pretty old and dated. WiFi didn’t work in our room and it’s too expensive to have WiFi issues. We couldn’t get a Lyft or uber as a result. I highly recommend spending your money elsewhere. At the most, this place should be $200 a night.

For a $700 stay we expected luxury and found the experience C- at best.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Staff was so friendly, super helpful and everything was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back.

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. The only problem that I had was the spa. It was not as clean or luxurious as a highly rated spa should be. The showers and locker rooms were very old and not sparkly clean. There were no staff to help you unless you actively searched for help. Overall the staff at the front desk, the restaurant and the spa were Not friendly and helpful.

Seems like they’re selling a mediocre room at a premium price. Must be for weddings, engagements and anniversaries. The grounds are beautiful but the rooms are not. Our nearly $500 room was in the middle of a parking lot. I believe we paid extra to be at pool view. Completely unimpressed. Underwhelming.

Swimming pool and restaurant were great! Staff lovely. Appreciated the management of a loud/rude group in a cabana at the pool on Sunday lunchtime. They were awful and dealt with appropriately. Could do with a greater selection of snacks at the reception for purchase. Keep the adult pool open till 11pm at least - close the family pool at 9pm. Lots of couples there who would have appreciated that time without children around. Also, so many kids in the restaurant. Consider having family dining area so those couples who have spent a lot of money for kid free time aren’t subject to kids running around or whining at the bar. It’s on the parents, not you - but parameters will help! As above
