The hotel was good. The neighborhood at night is a bit scary but the hotel was great.

I enjoyed this hotel and would recommend it to every person.

And, there was NO PARKING to add injury to insult! There were no available parking spaces on either side, so I had to park outside the property!! require that the parking fee be waived completely for all three nights! It's 11:24pm. I'm exhausted!!!! This is unbelievable and NOT at the level of service I had to love when staying at the Marriott Bonvoy! was a member, but after this stay, forget it!

On the website, it said free parking yet we still had to pay$38. They quickly changed the website from “ Free parking “ to parking with a fee “ At breakfast, We were told it was also free, when we got there the worker at Starbucks said it wasn’t free so we went to the front desk who told us that it was. After that he took 20 minutes to make my drink. Also in the shower the body wash container was empty. Overall we were disappointed.

There was no breakfast on both days only cold pastries. Overall the staff was helpful and the manager also helped out, they tried .Breakfast was the deal breaker for me. Someone should have told me they don’t serve breakfast on the weekend. I would have never booked at this location. Everything around was fast food, upon checking out font desk offered a sandwich for my flight after I remarked about the breakfast. Am grateful for the effort on his behalf, unfortunately am seriously allergic to gluten and dairy. Apparently no one took notice in the reservation notes, or front desk just did not added it to my reservation after i spoke with her.

Overall, it's a good property -- fairly new, clean, well-maintained. Climate control worked well and was quiet. Breakfast was above-average (cooked). Drawbacks: It's in a creepy neighborhood. Although it's adjacent to the Newark Convention center, there are plenty of people who are homeless or just "hanging out" in the neighborhood. You won't want to go for a walk at night. Also, the connection between the hotel building and the parking structure (which is primarily for the convention center) is very awkward. You need to use 2 elevators and a flight of stairs to get from one to the other. It's a pain if you have a heavy suitcase.

The property itself was clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and polite. A few things I didn't like: 1) PARKING, at $35 per day was not worth it. It was the Prudential Center parking lot and hotel guests had to park on the top - 5th floor, which meant walking or taking the elevator down 5 flights to walk up an incline to the door leading into the hotel. The night of a Prudential Center event, we could not access the parking until all cars were ushered out. We returned from a wedding and reception - were very tired after taking folk to other destinations and had to wait on the street before we were allowed to park. 2) ROOM my husband and I were assigned was uncomfortable. The TV was at the side of the bed in lieu of in front. Watching TV in bed was uncomfortable having to turn our heads to watch instead of looking forward. 3) WATER pressure non-existent our departure day. Luckily, my daughter was on a lower floor and had water pressure. The hotel claimed a street water main break. The water did come out brown with sediments but cleared after 5 to 10 minutes of running. 4) BREAKFAST that we paid in advance (Starbucks) the menu was very limited. You could only get one entree and one drink. Ours was $25/person. 5) There was only 1/2 roll of toilet paper in the bathroom. 6) Very loud STREET NOISE as the front of the hotel is on a main street. It is not the same hotel I saw advertised with the same address. I will not stay here again!

The Marriott staff and hotel was very good but the security services being used was deplorable. Since you have to come into the first floor and go through security before being allowed to go to 2nd floor hotel lobby found the security guard extremely rude and unprofessional. Then when I left with a different guard on duty I could not even get the guard to lift her head to say hello or good morning . This certainly leaves a very poor impression.
