This hotel was such a surprise and a wonderful change from our typical hotel stays. The Refinery Hotel has a great vibe. We arrived on Saturday night and were genuinely impressed from start to finish. Check in was friendly and quick. We stayed in room 405. The room was exceptionally clean and airy. It was comfortable, stylish, and had exactly the kind of atmosphere you want from a hotel in Manhattan. A major bonus was that you heard absolutely nothing from the street - super quiet. We felt that the Refinery's atmosphere is sophisticated but still relaxed and welcoming. The location is another major advantage. It’s incredibly convenient for getting around Manhattan (38th and 6th Avenue) (subway is just a couple of blocks away) and there were so many restaurants, shops and attractions within easy reach. We were able to walk to many places and found it very easy to get wherever we wanted to go. Also, make sure you have supper up in the Refinery Rooftop - the view of the Empire State Building looming above us was amazing, and the food was great. The staff were friendly and professional, and the entire hotel had a warm, upscale feel. We've stayed in plenty of beautiful hotels in New York, but the Refinery manages to have its own personality and character, which made our stay feel special. Overall, we had an excellent experience and will happily stay here again. Highly recommended.

Great location. Great jazz bar inside hotel.
-
Great design, huge room and welcoming staff. I thought it could be cleaner all around and things like carpets and paint and such were definitely in need of replacing/updating.

The Refinery is a hidden gem in Midtown. Excellent location to go anywhere in the city and have a larger more comfortable resting area. We have also stayed there for the Thanksgiving parade and loved the proximity and access. Wonderful hotel, can’t say enough.
