I'm a solo woman (black) traveler and the room I got wasn't the best. There was a lot of wear and tear on the furniture (nightstand,bed, walls). The room was clean however. The room is very small as expected in New York. Good for one person but not for a very long stay because it gets cramped quick. Let's talk about the bad... the key fob for my door was broken off one day while I was out... (idk how.. still don't) they "fixed" it but it broke again. Then there were these blasting alarms going off early one morning. The staff weren't good at communicating what was happening unfortunately. We just were stuck going up and down the emergency stairwell with everyone else ! Also the bed was on wood & a piece of wood broke but I wasn't charged so that was nice. The view from my room was okay. I expected better but it was a lot of construction across the street. I area was okay but I wouldn't stay in this area again if I ever visited New York again. This was my first time visiting New York & I'm from Chicago so it's safe to say New York isn't what I expected & neither was this hotel.

The front desk staff are amazing! The room was fab! And the location is perfect!

Also the food in the restaurant was below average (I got breakfast and couldn’t even finish it).
