Aloft by Marriott Durham Downtown

Wonderful location, especially if you’re going to a Durham Bulls baseball game. The hotel was refreshing and inviting.

Large room, very convenient location.

The location was excellent. We were there for an event at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. We could see the park from our room, so walking to the event was a bonus. Noticed other restaurants in the immediate area as well. We didn’t adventure much as we were just there for the one night. Would choose again for any events in that area. Room was clean and spacious for 4 of us. Beds comfortable. Pool table in the lounge was a plus. Food service on-site was nice after coming in late from event. Grabbed snacks and hot cookies before heading up. Kitchen offered pizza & other food too. Staff was friendly. We arrived in the room and the TV was not working. Tried to call the front desk from the room phone & that didn’t seem to work either. There was a cleaner next door who didn’t speak English, but was able to communicate enough for her to call her manager who spoke some English and called the maintenance guy. He quickly determined the issue -cable not connected & had to go through the drawers to reconnect. Despite language barrier the staff I was in contact with responded within a timely manner. The pool was out of service, which was a disappointment for the 2 teen boys with us. They were looking forward to swimming. When I asked about it I was told it was being cleaned… I guess that takes all day/night. Shower pressure is low. Not that big of a deal, but a train did come through the area early morning blowing the whistle. We are early risers anyway. Not sure if that is an everyday occurrence.

Drag show in the lobby as I was walking through with my 11 y/o was awesome (/sarcasm). Dancing like a stripper right in the open, classy.

Close to DPAC Water was smelly, TV didn't work, few food options within walking distance

Great proximity to DPAC and able to see fireworks from stadium while lounging by the pool! When I needed to stay an additional night, staff weren't particularly empathetic (I was suffering from a terrible stomach virus) or helpful. That was disappointing, since up until that moment, staff had been wonderful.

Perfect location, clean and modern room.

Aloft in Durham never disappoints. The staff were efficient, professional, helpful and more than pleasant. Check in was smooth, the room was immaculate, and the bar and bar tender were both excellent. We will stay again!

Our room did not receive housekeeping services during our stay. We had to request more linens due to this and they were never brought to us. Luckily, we found a housekeeper in the hallway and got the towels and washcloths that we needed.

Loved how close it was to places to eat. Also very convenient when going to see a program at DPAC. one elevator didnt work the night of the show and took for ever to get off of the 2nd floor to the lobby. Also how much the rooms echo'd. I was charged for parking but the parking deck was open the whole time without having to pay if you were just visiting the area.
