Hollywood Casino at Greektown

Went to the hotel earlier then check-in and let them know we had an event to go to so we would be a late check in They made a note about that When we got to the hotel later that night we were told that they had overbooked and we no longer had a room They said we had one somewhere else they just didn’t know where We were tired and the last thing we wanted was to have to walk somewhere at 1130 pm How was it with advance reservations all of a sudden we don’t have a room!

The only issue was there was a large volume of people checking in on one day due to multiple events in the area and the property wouldn't let anyone check in early- wouldn't even look up room and see if it was available. This resulted in an hour and a half wait in line to check in to the room. Also making us late to our event.

A disappointing experience for sure.

Doint plan on checking in prior to a concert ot game. The hotel prefers to have everyone wait in line for two plus hours beginning at 4pm. It’s a cluster of angry travelers camped out in the lobby. Most ridiculous set up I’ve ever seen. Better to stay at any other hotel in the area that understands why you overpaid on a Saturday to be in town. I’ve stayed at so many hotels downtown Detroit, for events. I’ve never seen such a bad set up for check in. Never again! Walk another block for a better experience.

That is despicable. We traveled here in good faith and they took our money with no problem at all. Avoid this hotel if you need a guaranteed room. They have no problem at all stealing your room out from underneath you. ZERO STARS. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

The room was very nice and very clean. The problem I experienced was with check-in. I got to the hotel at about 3 PM and was told there was no early check-in, which I completely understand. However, the line was so long that it wrapped around the hotel lobby and it took us more than an hour to check in. We were supposed to eat dinner near Ford Field and attend the Ed Sheeran concert. Check-in took so long that we missed our dinner. I travel frequently and have never experienced such a long delay for check-in before. It was really disappointing.

Fantastic stay as always

When we checked in we asked about towels. They only give 2 large towels per room. We were staying for 2 nights and had wanted to take a shower after traveling. It was like pulling teeth to get more towels. They finally agreed to towels and only 2 more. Any other hotel we go to has 4-6 large towels in a room. We also reported the garbage can was dirty and had trash in it. When the housekeeper dropped off the towels I also told her and she just smirked and shrugged her shoulders and left. She never cleaned it out. We had also asked for more soap since we didn’t have any and they only gave us shampoo. The other room that was booked at the same time had a bunch of hair on their beds. When booking we talked to the hotel and asked to be on the same floor and we were on 25 and they were on 29. While there were still rooms available on our floor they didn’t accommodate. We also asked for more pillows as they were very small on the bed and the housekeeper said she would see what she could do. We are still waiting for more. We spent a lot of money on the room because of the concert and baseball game using a ton of rooms in the city so we were very disappointed in the accommodations and feeling of comfort.

No accommodations or apologies were made for these disgusting inconveniences. The property is nice overall and the valet service is a huge win, probably the best thing they have going for them. I wouldn’t stay there again though.

First time visitor - seemed hard to get around as not everything was labeled as clearly on how to get to places. If we asked, even the staff, we would get turned around. Everyone friendly, but it was frustrating! Seemed like constantly switching elevators to get to anywhere. We got checked in to a room that wasn't clean. Had to spend time switching rooms which took some time because they were booked. Had my daughter. Even though hotel allowed children, there was no place she was allowed entrance to eat because the entrance to casino was before the food court. If they moved that past the food court were the machines actually started, she would have been able to eat. I went to casino for two days and didn't even win enough to keep me interested in playing. I didn't see anyone winning when I think about it. Overall, did not thoroughly enjoy my stay.

Check-in took a very long time, however the staff offered free water to the line and the staff working the desk did a great job at getting people through as quick as they could. Between a Tigers Game & and Ed Sheeran concert the staff did the best they could to help in a timely manner.

Just don't.

Check in was a miserable mess. Stood in line for an hour and a half to check in. It was just chaos, nobody telling you what to do or where to stand in a wrap around crap show lobby. Check in was 4pm got there 10 minutes early, didn’t even get to our room until 5:45pm. It caused us to be late for the event we even got the room for. No comps or vouchers for the anything, hardly even a sorry. It was like you should be thankful you even got a room you booked 6 months in advance. Definetly wasn’t worth the amount money it cost to stay here. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to stay here or for us to ever go back. That whole check in experience ruined everything!!!

Arrived at 2:30 was told can check in until 4. Came back at 4 the line was wrapped throughout the lobby and out the door probably a hundred people. With 2 workers the line wasn’t moving. Had to leave and come back after concert. When we came back after waiting in another line to find out they over booked and all rooms were gone. Lots people were left without rooms at midnight with no options!

Of the detroit casinos, this is the worst. Not well maintained, systems are terrible. Given the price, I would highly reccomend staying elsewhere.

The room was very nice and clean but their check in process ruined everything for us. I understand check in time is 4pm but they refused to even check if any room was ready. By 4 pm a line of 200 people formed and all could have been avoided if they would have checked in by room availability. They all misled originally the room could be ready at 3pm and when I returned they failed to even check saying 0 rooms were ready. It was poorly managed and inconvenient for so many that had evening plans. In addition, only 2 towels were provided for a 2queen room. Requested more and they never arrived. I do have to state the valet staff was very friendly and helpful.

Canceled our reservation at 9:00 at night. Because they were over booked!! And didn’t really care.

It took an hour and half to check in and then they cancelled my room. Will never book there again.

View was great. Room had one dirty towel laying on bed. No other towels or washcloths. No garbage can. No cups for coffee. Toilet handle broken. Toilet paper roll holder broken. Called housekeeping for clean towels, washcloths and a garbage bin. Was told they don’t “do” garbage cans at the hotel. So not sure where they wanted us to put garbage. Thank goodness we had a Walmart bag to put trash in. The housekeeper who brought the towels and washcloths was extremely unprofessional. We opened the door for her to get the towels. She had her phone in one hand towels in the other gave us a dirty look and said absolutely nothing. Handed us the towels and walked away continuing her phone conversation. Nice being connected to the casino but probably wouldn’t stay there again.
