The Royal Sonesta Chicago Downtown

Perfect location, within walking distance of so many shops and restaurants. Beautiful view from the river view rooms. Staff are so helpful with unloading and loading your vehicle and getting your luggage up to your room. Valet is easy and convenient.

We stayed for two nights, but unfortunately, we didn’t receive room service.

Great place to stay!

Good sized room and hotel location was perfect. We didn't use any of the amenities as we were busy exploring.

Th Rooms were gigantic

I was going to give all stars until I saw hidden charges. Valet parking was 80 + 32 for destination fee. What the hell is destination fee ? I was told I will get credit of $40 but look like your are charging me $64 destination fee. It was not mentioned on your website or at time of checkin and check out.

I absolutely loved my stay at The Royal Sonesta. The room was beautiful, the bed was super comfortable and the views of the river was beyond amazing. I will definitely be staying there again.

I loved the location and the staff! Staff was super friendly and informative! Location was perfect for all the places we wanted to go! We walked mostly because everything was so close. Can’t think of anything

The room was nice we had the river view. Location was amazing, close to a lot of things we wanted to do. The only thing was our room was right next to the elevator and we heard it constantly. At first I thought it was a train, just to give reference to the noise level. We asked on the first night about switching rooms, we were told they were fully booked and the elevators close to the rooms stop in the night. I have a video of the one beside our room still operating at 2 am. I would stay here again but if you are a light sleeper that room might be a deal breaker.

Downside pictures of the hotel show a rooftop but guests are not allowed to use it:( I thought it was available to guest but once there at hotel asked and its not available to guest to use:(

The staff was friendly and welcoming, and we really enjoyed having the on-site bar and restaurant for a quick bite or a drink before heading out. Housekeeping did tidy our room each day. My only complaint was that one of the channels we watch frequently was glitching throughout our stay. We didn’t report it during our visit since we weren’t planning to spend much time in the room anyway. Overall, we had another great stay and would definitely recommend the Royal Sonesta! ⭐️

It’s an okay hotel

Extremely pleased with the hotel views and comfortable beds. The rooms were cleans, bathrooms were nice and kitchen was enough for those staying for a weekend or a few weeks. Did I mention the views?? This will be my go to hotel for Chicago. It’s centrally located downtown within minutes of many attractions.
