We stayed one night; the lobby is lovely and the room was spacious but not as elegant as I would have hoped for the type of hotel. The location was great and the staff was very kind.

Friendly staff

Among the most convenience hotels in DC. Stayed several times and it's close to everything. Nice bar, in room dining and a great value. Rooms are spacious and comfortable.
-
I should have been told about this charge by the front desk when I was registering. I might have elected to move to an other hotel.

Everything about my stay was fantastic! The staff were my favorite part, each and everyone of them was patient and excited to be there! I loved my stay and would love to return

I have stayed in this hotel many times. This time, after a long break between stays, the noticed significant wear and tear of two rooms we stayed in. In the foyer, everything looks excellent and well kept and maintained. Breakfast was awesome as always. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful!

Large room, clean.

I’d stay again!

Very nice boutique hotel. Kobe at the front desk was terrific. He was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very nice. However, I found the beds to be too hard and the sheets were very low thread count. They felt like the generic brand cheap sheets. Thankfully, I always travel with my own pillowcases. We had the complimentary breakfast. It was a nice variety. Although he had a nice disposition, I think our server was overwhelmed and the service was poor. I had to ask for sweetener and cream for coffee. I wasn’t given a spoon for the coffee. My coffee was lukewarm. We never were offered water with empty glasses on the table. A manager noticed us waiting a long time with menus and took our order and delivered our food. The food was good.

Stayed for college move in for a few days. It was convenient to the campus so we tried it. We had two suites. Both rooms were dated and rather dirty. The carpet was stained so badly and the shower was rusted and discolored. Also, what hotel still uses a shower curtain? This one does. The front desk staff could not get the two room keys right and it took three times for us to enter our room, which we needed to shove our shoulder against to enter because it was stuck. The valet was NEVER there to take the car and the valet area was super chaotic which was crazy because it’s on a busy main road. The restaurant was out of three different items, the bar was also out of a necessary alcohol they needed to make one of their signiture drinks. Also, anyone can access the hotel and go on any floor. Normally hotels require a key scan to access anything other than common areas as a security measure, not here. We checked out a day early and went to a hotel we normally stay in. I never write reviews because I believe that one bad stay can happen, however, there were too many issues that spanned across the entire stay that made me finally write a review. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. With so many options, I would look elsewhere.

On down side, staff left our door open post service. The coffee pods weren’t refilled every day, and there was no free water (other than tap).
-
The hotel has an ideal location for those visiting Georgetown or George Washington. It is accessible by Metro and many shops, restaurants, grocery stores are at walking distance.
-
Overall a decent stay but nothing stellar. We got there several hours after check-in time and the room was still not ready. The sheets on the pull-out couch were dirty and had to be replaced as well. The air conditioning was very finicky and could not be adjusted. Just as an FYI - there is a "historical landmark fee" of $37 per night (I didn't see that upon booking).
-
Close to gw. However the rooms needs to be updated. The bathtub drainage system doesn’t work very well. . Staff was great and helpful. However no ice on any dlooor.

Nice stay. Very attentive staff
-
I appreciated the efficient and friendly checkin. Our room was large, fairly clean, and the view was phenomenal. We appreciated the location too!
-
Small rooms with no microwave and broken refrigerator. Staff not helpful
-
The staff is absolutely awesome. The hotel is beautiful! It is an older hotel and you can tell by the smell when you enter the room. It has an older musky smell. Great location and very accommodating staff.
-
Great location. Clean bedding. Amazing staff. Delicious food. The Melrose is always my first choice in DC.
-
