Ivy City Hotel

At first glance, the room was tidy, but closer inspection showed mold in the tub caulking, the toilet, and in other sealed areas. The towel rack was rusty, stained shower curtain, baseboards looked untouched for months, and the floor made my socks dirty. I bought cleaning supplies and showed the manager before-and-after results. I even offered to help clean a few bathrooms to improve guest reviews, but was told maintenance already handles it. Based on my room, they do not. The laundry facilities were unreliable, one vending machine was broken, the other only took coins, and the ice machine did not appear sanitary. The biggest issue was the Wi-Fi. It is advertised as available, but I was two doors from the office and could not get usable Wi-Fi in my room for nearly three weeks. I repeatedly asked for help and had to use my phone hotspot the entire time. When I raised it with the office, I was told it worked there, which does not help guests in rooms. There were also uncomfortable interactions with staff, including inappropriate racist comments and unsolicited “health” advice after I mentioned I have cancer. I was given dirt to mix with water and drink. I was there because of an apartment emergency. I asked for a discount due to the Wi-Fi issue and received none. I would not recommend this property only if you need the cheapest and low expectations

Terrible dirty place. While checking in some random lady asked for my id to book a room for her. The room was terribly dirty. Dead roaches. The sheets were sticky. I didn’t even dare to take shoes off. Dirt everywhere. Smells like wet and humid. Couldn’t stay there more than 10 min. Checked out instantly. The receptionist didn’t even asked what was wrong when I come to check out. There are plenty of better options few minutes away. Nothing

Unfortunately, we did not end up staying at the property. We decided not to stay at this hotel after our friends arrived before us and told us about several serious concerns. They reported finding bugs in the room and feeling very unsafe in and around the property. They also had an alarming encounter with people who appeared to be homeless, who asked for our IDs and tried to get access to our room. After hearing what happened, we did not feel safe coming to the hotel at all and booked another hotel instead. It was a very concerning experience.
