MOXY Phoenix Tempe/ASU Area

The location is definitely a plus! The hotel is within walking distance of plenty of fast-food options, and CVS is practically connected to the hotel. The Moxy itself is aesthetically pleasing and has a really cool, modern vibe. I thought it was unique that the bartender is also the person who checks you in right at the bar! I was also given a card for a complimentary drink, which was a nice touch. There’s a lounge area with games to play, and the room itself was pretty standard. Cons: Unfortunately, my stay came with quite a few issues. There was ongoing construction, and there was a foul odor when entering through the back of the hotel that was also noticeable in the elevator. The biggest issue was the plumbing. I learned about that the hard way when my toilet overflowed! I was absolutely mortified. 😩 I had to change rooms because of it. In the second room, the AC wasn’t working, so I had to move again. Finally, after being placed in a third room, everything was okay. So, in one stay, I somehow managed to experience three different rooms at the Moxy. 😩 The hotel has a great location and a fun atmosphere, but the maintenance issues definitely put a damper on my experience.

The bathroom was not cleaned properly. I wouldn’t stay here if I was paid.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Fun games in lobby. Only downside was the fitness center was closed due to renovations on that floor.

The staffs here are incredible, helpful and attentive.

The plumbing situation was just disgusting. The entire space smelled like sewer. I believe they are going to renovate, but until then it’s gross and the drinks were warm.

This stay was not pleasant really at all. Upon check-in our room was not clean. Shower was dirty. Patio door was filthy. Multiple coffee cups left on the patio. Floors were dirty. Went back down to lobby and the manager got us another room. This room was cleaner but not up to par by any mean’s. Shower had mold and bacteria in it. Patio very dirty and glass door also very dirty. Hallways were filthy. Very very gross. 1 elevator didn’t work at all. The other one was very scary. Stair wells were nasty as well. It is very run down. I feel the property has been very neglected.

There had clearly been some sort of leak in the hallway, there were boards and additional carpet down and it smelled strongly of mold/mildew. Our room was clean but the King bed had only 2 small pillows, not even standard size. We had to call down for more. The full sized toiletry dispenser sets had been removed from the shower, but the holder was still there. Mini travel toiletries were on the counter, but there was nowhere to set them in the shower.

This hotel is so old and needs a serious re-model. The rooms are clean but everything else smells like mildew

The hotel is fine but it feels like you’re staying in a dude apartment. Not really any amenities.

oh, and the place is dirty & very run down… it has potential but it’s like they aren’t even trying. but it was the huge cockroach in our room that had us leaving early.

The hotel was filthy! The lobby area did not show the extent of it, but the elevator and walk down the hallway to the rooms looked and smelled like they hadn’t been cleaned or vacuumed in years. We should have left and found another hotel. The room and beds seemed clean, but there was no electricity in the bathroom, the shower didn’t drain, and the caulking in the shower was black with grime. Stay away from this hotel!!

Room interior was clean and staff was friendly and welcoming. They need to retire the dirty and smelly carpeting in the hallways. Otherwise this place has great potential.

No fridge, but we worked that out. Inviting lobby, unique look and concept everywhere. Dingy old carpeting. Said to be under construction. Both taps in the bathroom of 229 produced hot water. No cold water available. Oddly, no cups in the room.

Elevators seem like they are 2 minutes away from falling apart. Pool table felt was ripped and dirty. arcades are not even plugged in. This place basically looks like a cheap strip club from grand theft auto.

Besides the front entrance and staff members, I would not recommend staying here until they finish renovations. Halls smelled, rooms are o.k., outside of the hotel is terrible
