we lucked out on this hotel because they just renovated it. everything was new. There were still certain floors still under renovation so one of the elevators was reserved for the workers. this didnt affect our stay. Certain parking spots were occupied by construction trailers and vehicles but we managed to find parking. The common areas including the front lobby and the breakfast room were in great shape. the contents of the free breakfast was terrific. Alot of variety of food. Overall a pleasant stay.

The bath towels were small and a bit disappointing. The hotel was quiet although street noise was experienced due to the downtown location. The provided breakfast was average. The staff were all helpful and pleasant. Parking was onsite and there were plenty of spots. The hotel lobby is preparing to be renovated and the hotel is transitioning to a Hilton brand so it will be exciting to see the changes.

Clean, quiet, with very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Will definitely stay again.
-
The property was going through referb, so none of the usual amenities were present.
-
no ice machines, I was told to go to a convinience store. The breakfast was lacking as well as the coffee station. That being said, the room was nice and comfortable and clean.
-
The room was nice but there wad nothing to drink at brekfast and not enough to eat. Staff was very nice abd helpful. There us construction so appearances werent the greatest. Location and proximity to college were excellent.
-
Nails in the hotel parking lot which was a construction zone with limited spots. No hangers in the room. No fridge and to top it off a hole in the wall where the fridge was previously. Staff generally not helpful and unphased when issues were raised. Do not stay here. Avoid at all costs.

Exceptional

Wonderful 1920’s hotel. We have stayed a number of times over the last few years. It is safe, intersting and convenient to Syracuse University. We have just loved the historical features of the hotel. Not fancy, but clean comfortable and friendly. Now it is being overhauled by A chain and remodeling is feeling cheep. Room doors over painted and sticking badly. Other minor things we were willing to chalk up to growing pains until we learned about the generic overhaul of the lobby planned to obliterate the charming and gorgeous carved cement entrance . I’m happy to see a great old hotel get saved, but no need to take away its charm!

Rooms renovated and clean Lots of construction and breakfast wasn’t available because they didn’t have the staff trained to provide it. I feel these things should have been told to us prior to the stay so we could adjust our plans if we wanted to make alternate arrangements.
-
The staff was helpful, but the elevator was broken, and we were on the 4th floor. Not one offer of anything from the hotel to make up for this. They didn't even acknowledge the elevator was broken at first. There was just a sign up.
-
Nicely air-conditioned room… The staff certainly tries, they’re generally good people.
-
Hotel is on renovations. Stayed two nights and no breakfast any day, even though the reservation said free breakfast. AC was loud and noisy, could not sleep at night.
-
The staff were outstanding and very friendly. Arrived late at night and my room was not serviced and instead of turning me away the manager serviced the room at midnight. Under construction so common areas are cordoned off and parking is very limited.

Wonderful stay excellent service

Disappointing
-
Elevators not working, lobby smelled of cigarette smoke, room temperature was uncomfortable and overall did not feel clean

The staff were friendly. The room was nice and cool. The elevator was out of service so I had to climb five flights of stairs. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is depressing. The breakfast was mid. The bright hallway light shone into the bedroom under the door all night long. The air conditioner was super loud and was constantly turning on and off and on again. This was not the worst hotel, but how on earth is this worth $357?!?!?
-
The bed was comfortable. The price of the room did not match the quality of the hotel.
