Barker's Island Inn Resort

The property is old but everything worked. We took our grandkids there to go swimming and the pool and hot tub were in great shape. The location is also nice with a lot of walking trails. The room was old but it was pretty clean.

Nice clean property and excellent location. Friendly staff. Place could use some finish upgrades. Halls are dark and a bit scary. Bathrooms are very outdated.

The room was excellent, very clean and spacious. The staff were helpful and friendly. Quaint little location. The price was affordable. Only issue we had was our keys kept being de-programmed and would not open the door. We had to go to front desk and get them reprogrammed twice for our room. However, that issue was minor and we will DEFINITELY stay again next time we are in the Superior area.

We stayed 2 nights for an event on the island so the location was perfect for us. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a mini fridge, which was a nice bonus. We did have some issues with our room keys working properly and staff was very helpful in submitting the needed maintenance request. Staff throughout the place was consistently helpful and friendly. Hallway carpeting and some room furniture is older, and could use a refresh. The fitness center is very small with limited equipment, but the pool, sauna and hot tub were lovely after a busy day. The walleye dinner was delicious. Overall, we enjoyed our stayed and will probably stay here again next year. Can't beat the location!

We would recommend to anyone who wants to be right on Lake Superior with beautiful views and a fabulous staff.

The property location is the saving cool factor being on the island and being a marina. The hotel was in need of a deep clean and the rooms need a smell cleanse more than the air freshener in the AC could do. We were a last minute booking and just needed a place to crash. This did the trick.

We love the location! Beautiful area on Lake Superior. They need to do some updating & repairs though.

Our room itself was a problem. The room had not been cleaned. The bathroom was awful. Sheets were dirty. The clean staff finally filled the shower caddies and cleaned at the end of our two night stay. We will stay here again, but will take a hard look at the room first, before committing to it.

Rooms were not very clean. The bathroom was hot, musty and not very clean. Beds not comfortable. We slept on top of the covers in blankets and pillowcases brought from home. Furniture old and broken. Microwave leaning. Dust in the bathroom vent. Someone's dirty socks behind the bed (a sign the room wasn't cleaned.) I took someone else's recommendations but never will I stay here again. The outside view was real nice. There was a lot of things to do outside.

We loved the location by the lake and the common spaces were nice. The room we stayed in was dated and did not look like it had been cleaned in some time. There was still hair in the shower from the last guest, the bathroom was in need of cleaning and updating, and my child found a pocket knife under the bed. They also tacked on an extra $25.00 charge. Not impressed.

I like the water in front and back of the resort.

Location makes up for the dated property. Overall was clean, just a bit dated. The Location is 10 out of 10! Enjoy the hotel bar patio, and waking paths in the area.
