Pool was lovely, only gripe was that the lounge chairs are situated too close the the pool, which meant we got a lot of side eye and tutting when the kids splashed whilst swimming. Room was clean and plenty big enough for a family of 4. Our room overlooked the main street and there was some noise but on the whole it wasn't too bad. The rooms would benefit from hot drink facilities in the room, we don't drink coffee, we had our own tea bags but had no way to make in the room. We didn't eat at the restaurant as our kids are too fussy for the menu that was available but can 100% recommend Dogtown Coffee which is a couple of blocks over. Also didn't use the valet parking due to the cost, but we were able to park at the civic hall which is only a 5min walk and very secure. Staff were great, very friendly and helpful.

I would have given our stay 5 stars, as the hotel itself is beautiful and we had a wonderful experience overall. Unfortunately, our last day was completely overshadowed by an extremely rude and inconsiderate front desk manager. (Only her because all the rest of the team was very helpful during our both stays) I had a reservation through Booking.com for an accessible room with a roll-in shower through Monday, August 24, as well as a second room through Sunday, August 23. Despite having clear confirmation of this reservation, this manager insisted that we had to check out of the accessible room on Sunday because, according to her, the hotel had made a mistake in their system when assigning the rooms. My father has been in a wheelchair for 30 years. A roll-in shower is not a preference or a luxury for him, it is a necessity. Without an accessible shower, he simply cannot bathe. Our Booking confirmation clearly showed that the accessible room was reserved through August 24. What was most upsetting was not only that this manager refused to find a solution to a problem caused by the hotel, but also the way she treated us. While I was trying to explain the situation, with my father sitting next to me in his wheelchair, she asked me to step aside so she could continue assisting other guests with their check-outs. Her attitude was dismissive, disrespectful, and completely lacking in empathy. It is incredibly disappointing that a hotel this beautiful would allow a guest with accessibility needs to be treated this way. Accessible accommodations are a necessity, not something that can simply be taken away because of an internal hotel error. The rest of our stay was excellent. Management should seriously reconsider who they place in a front desk leadership position, especially when that person is responsible for handling situations involving guests with disabilities. If the hotel is unable or unwilling to honor the room type and dates confirmed through Booking.

Great location. Lovely hotel. Great to have chairs and body boards to take to the beach. Overpriced - $100 a night to park is quite frankly ridiculous! Breakfast was very expensive. As were drinks. Not enough beds by the pool.

Convenient location!

Property was beautiful simple but elegant. The housekeeping was the best I have ever experienced.
-
Easy walk to the beach. Room service hamburger was one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. Boho decor was fun.

When we finally got a room, we noticed musty smell in the room. We were in a hurry to get to the Dodgers game, so we left the room quickly. When we came back after midnight, the room still smelled badly. The next morning my daughter and I were feeling sick from the smell, so we requested room change.

My daughter joined us several days after our arrival. And they upgraded her room so that she could be across the hall from us. Her shower wasn’t working properly, they offered to move her but, because we wanted to be close by, they comped her a substantial amount to be used at the restaurant & bar. The food at the pool and at Marelle were exceptional! I highly recommend the Sandbourne, Santa Monica.

Everything from Check in and beyond was exceptional! The staff, the rooms, the amenities, dining options, the pool and proximity to the beach where chairs, umbrellas & towels were provided…everyone and everything exceeded our expectations!!! A Special “Thank you” to Aryanna at the front desk!

The hotel is beautiful with access right to the beach from pool area. Room is clean with huge space in balcony to hang out/relax with amazing beach view. Services & staffs are extremely professional, helpful, & friendly. Valid parking is excellent. The location is within walking distance to the pacific park, pier, & downtown (8 - 20 minutes depending on each attractive spot).
