Very unique, charming stay at an amazing price. Great for my partner and I in an amazing location

The hotel would be in a great location once the Alamo Museum is finished but that won’t be until 2028. We were not told about the construction right out our window. I do understand the construction has to go on but not at 3am and again at 4 am. There was a backup beeper that started at 3am and then at 4am they decided to start pouring concrete and again a backup beeper and the noise of the concrete pour and the rotation of the machine. Also the Valet parking sucks. We waited for over an hour to get our vehicle one day and close to it another day. The guy noticed we had waited for an extended period of time told us he would take care of the Valet Charges for the day but we were still charged the $45.00 for the day (I thought his word would be good, Wrong). You should not have to pay for valet and have to wait for over an hour to get your car. I’m not sure what needs to be changed. One day we were waiting and it wasn’t an hour but close. The kid that was trying to drive a Mustang with a clutch didn’t know how to start the vehicle or how to drive a stick shift, after trying several times and we could see him trying to Google it, he finally got out and took off running to get our truck due to our wait time. He was going to try to park that car and bring ours back at the same time. I understand the Valet shouldn’t be against the hotel but they hired them and offer the service when you arrive.

very nice stay! so close to everything, makes it very convenient! highly recommend valet as well.

Anyway, where the parking was an issue for me, the hotel itself was not. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent for visiting the Riverwalk. It felt so good to be within walking distance to anything we wanted. Let me not forget about the plethora of food for breakfast! That definitely is the highlight of this hotel. We will definitely keep this hotel in mind when we return for a visit. I will know up front to prepare for the parking fees. You will not be disappointed with this hotel.

Great hotel, I feel like the location is perfect because is right at the heart of everything you don’t need to drive. One down thing is there is no privacy when it comes to the bathroom sink is pretty much at the entrance of the room but other than that everything was great

Room was decent but quite small. No parking at hotel, so consider that before booking. Public lots and valet were pricey. Location was great.

Everything was perfect

Valet and staff were great, bed was very comfy, AC worked great. Very interesting old office building from 1909. Would recommend.

Customer service excellent

Valet parking excelente. Flores vino una experiencia inolvidable. Fue una buena election.

My only complaint would be with the valet service. You wait and your car is out front as expected on the app which is wonderful however multiple times there was no one there to actually give you the keys. This caused additional 10-15 min wait standing there waiting after your already quoted 15 min fetch time. That was frustrating but otherwise everything was fantastic. Breakfast was delicious. Room was clean and well kept. Staff was helpful and always available.

Very disappointed for a downtown hotel especially the valet parking that required self serve thru a phone app and only one attendant

Breakfast was amazing for a buffet. Lots of traditional choices and even tortillas and guisada! Quite a treat. Can't beat the location for visiting the Alamo other than staying at the Menger. Our room was nice, clean and functional. The Gibbs is a neat, historic building and we would definitely recommend it and stay there again.

It was in a perfect location close to everything.

Great location. Very interesting building. Comfy room.

It’s $45 to park, unfortunately. And when I asked if parking was free she laughed at me which wasn’t necessary. So you end up paying a lot more. And depending on who’s also staying at the time of your stay, your room will REEK of weed. The shower water pressure sucked, the shampoo didn’t come out of the bottle, and the bed wasn’t comfortable. I woke up 3 times during the night, and when you step the floor creaks. The breakfast was the only thing that really saved it, they had carne guisada which was good.
