Hyatt Place Rapid City / Downtown

Very clean room and “fresh” smelling. Location was excellent.

Clean, nice breakfast, dinner was great.

Clean room, friendly staff and conveniently located. Didn’t have a microwave, which we missed with the busy schedule we had.

On the first day, our room was simply not cleaned. When I called the front desk, I was repeatedly told that all of the housekeeping staff had already left for the day and that nothing could be done until the following day. However, our bathroom genuinely needed cleaning, and our trash cans were full of food waste from the day. After I insisted that someone at least clean the bathroom and empty the trash, a housekeeping staff member eventually came to the room. She changed some towels and did a little cleaning in the bathroom, but did not even empty the full trash cans in the room. I ultimately had to take the garbage downstairs myself. The housekeeping the following day was also incomplete. There were two beds in our room, but only one was made; the other was left completely messy. The bottled water was not replenished either. When I went to the front desk to ask for water—which we had been receiving each day—I was told that we were not the appropriate level of World of Hyatt members and therefore were not entitled to bottled water. After I explained that the hotel had been providing it every day, the staff member reluctantly gave us some. The most stressful experience happened on the morning of our departure. When we arrived in Rapid City, getting an Uber from the airport had been extremely easy, so I reasonably expected the same going back to the airpor

So surprised, in a good way, by this hotel. Great location, near good restaurants and shops. Free indoor parking. Nice lobby and bar. Large breakfast room and buffet. Our room was huge, two queens plus a full size sitting area. Bathrooms are new and had plenty of towels. I would stay here again.

Beautiful, clean property great location Could be a little more reasonable

Clean, quiet location close to local restaurants and stores. Convenient parking. Breakfast buffet was a great start to our days. Great home base for exploring all there is to see in that part of South Dakota.

Staff was not friendly Everything

Everyone was very helpful and informative!! Shannon the bartender was enthusiastic, friendly, energetic, she was extremely helpful with providing information on restaurants and places to go!!

Great downtown location with parking included. Quiet and clean room. The only quible was the shower doors were off their slides and clunky.

Modern and clean For the price not having daily house cleaning, no bell service

Very convenient being located in downtown and also easy in getting to I 90 if leaving to do other activities outside of Rapid City. Hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The main floor had an extremely strong sewer smell - was not impressed

Once we did get in, we found there wasn’t even basic hand soap available — a small thing, but frustrating after such a long wait. For a Hyatt property, this level of service fell short of expectations. Hoping management addresses these gaps for future guests.

Th staff was very polite and helpful. The location was great to walk around downtown. Would recommend for anyone coming into Rapid City.
