Hampton Inn Rochester Penfield

Our room was not ready at check-in. The coffee bar was not stocked on one occasion. When we asked for an item, it was tossed on the counter to us. The attendant didn't even restock the counter, just got us 2 packets. The breakfast toaster was not working on both days. When I asked about it, I was told they were waiting on a new one. I get it, but why have it out for people to waste their time running bread through it over and over again? Also, we noticed a concerning amount of fruit flies in the breakfast/coffee area.

It was easy to check in, get into our room and it accommodated our dog. It needed more space for pets

Nicest hotel we have stayed at. Very clean and exceptionally quiet. No doors slamming or people talking in the halls. Could not hear sounds from neighboring rooms. Excellent breakfast. choices

Kind and friendly staff, extremely clean, loved the pool and weight room. Excellent location.

The hotel room was not great. Our bathroom was dirty (behind the toilet, the room smelled of urine so much so that my daughter got physically sick from it, and the floor just inside the door to the room was black when I cleaned up some liquid from the tile). The beds were clean but you could hear the guests above every time they moved in the night. Would opt for another hotel next time.

Cabinet door was broken. Had to call for bedding for sleeper couch, but everything else was fine. Ask for a room on the third floor which has its own exit onto a parking lot.

The staff was very helpful, friendly and professional.

Great central location for my visit. Hotel was very clean, good variety for breakfast and nice and quiet at night, minus the room AC that had an awful blower. Would definitely stay again.

It was very comfortable and convenient for our visit. The room was fresh, clean and updated. The breakfast was good and the waffles were perfect.

This stay was fine overall, and my room was clean. The issue I encountered was due to my own mistake. I arrived much earlier than expected after driving from South Carolina. Since I already had a reservation for later that day, I asked if it would be possible to check into a different room immediately and simply be charged for the previous night’s stay. I made it clear that I was not asking to change or modify my existing reservation—only to be placed in another available room and billed accordingly. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a misunderstanding. I was repeatedly told that my reservation could not be adjusted, even though I explained several times that I was not requesting any changes to my reservation. This process began around 4:00 a.m. When I arrived, the doors were locked, so I spoke with the front desk through the exterior phone. I was told there was nothing that could be done until 7:00 a.m. I returned at that time, and I was then told that getting a room immediately would cost approximately $2,000. At that point, I declined and asked them to leave my reservation as it was. I understand that my request was last-minute, and I recognize that accommodations cannot always be made. However, the hotel did not appear to be fully booked, and I was hoping for a little more flexibility or at least a more helpful explanation.
