We've stayed at Standard East Village before. Rooms were bigger, views were better, staff was wayyy more friendly and accommodative to children, restaurant service was faster. Overall just a bleh experience At High Line location for a high price. Not good value

I loved this hotel. What a great area (Meat Packing District). The hotel is right under the Highline and a block from the cute Little Island Park. Subways are easy to get to and there are plenty of food options in the area. Staff were helpful and even made a great recommendation for a restaurant in the area for brunch. And the room…fantastic! Very spacious and had a great view of the river. Loved it. Would definitely stay here again and recommend it anyone wanting to stay downtown.

Location. The elevator banks and elevators were extremely dark. Difficult to navigate. Noisy. vaping. Bathroom shower situation created a safety hazard. Shower is not a separate stall. The water doesn’t drain and pools on the floor. Did realize until the floor had an inch of water and personal items were soaking wet. Not a place to stay for those over 30. Which is why I got the rate I did.

Awesomeness

The location is great. Cannabis smoke came through the air vents into my 11th-floor room and I couldn’t sleep. Reported it to reception around midnight; staff came up and confirmed the smell, but the only fix offered was housekeeping spraying Febreze — useless against smoke coming through the ventilation. I asked to move rooms and was refused, and told to open a window, despite the room having a sealed vent and no opening window. Left in an unusable room for the night. Smoking isn’t allowed here, but there was no way to actually stop it or get me somewhere else to sleep.

The location was great .close to the classes I was attending. My meals and the staff were great I understand it’s moody and sexy. But as a woman staying alone I didn’t like how dark it was by the elevators in the lobby. Also how high it was to step over the bath to have a shower. Also I have stayed other places where the bathroom is also open visually to the bedroom but they had a privacy mode available for modesty. I was staying alone. What if u was staying with a work colleague?
