The Evelyn Hotel

This was a lovely hotel. Very convenient and walkable to many sites. I will definitely stay here again!

Every staff I interacted with were all so helpful and friendly. The yogurt parfait at breakfast is a must have. And don't skip on the complimentary walking tour if you have the time, totally worth it!

We paid about $3600 for eight nights at the hotel with my family of four. That’s a pretty good price for a midtown hotel with a family. We had a double bed with a bathroom and a small closet. The room had a desk with no drawers and a chair that took up a good chunk of space. It was tight. There was a pay fridge but no other fridge to store leftover food and beverages. I requested a fridge, and they brought one up to our room within 10 mins. The room did not have a dresser, and that drives me nuts when I am staying in place over two nights. We had to keep all our clothes in our bags. It’s a constant shuffle of bags on the floor. They do give you cards for each person to get breakfast or drinks at the bar. On the last night, I got a couple of drinks at the tusk bar, and the bartenders were very nice. But the head bartender said something very mean to the woman bartender, and I was kind of shocked. She was crying and felt bad for her. Overall, the hotel was nice, but I wish it had the basic necessities like a fridge and a dresser to store your clothes for a long stay.

The Evelyn hotel showed attention to detail with Art Deco elegance through out. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast and wine meetings were great and gave a sense of the community of a boutique hotel. It felt luxurious but in a relaxed atmosphere.

It was fine, the room was absurdly small and just not that comfortable.

The atmosphere, the room and the grab-to-go breakfast. Grab-to-Go breakfast could be enhanced to accomodate more dairy free needs or hot beverages (i.e. Cappuccino)

There were two elevators. One wasn't working during our entire stay andthe other was incredibly slow (waited 7 minutes for it to arrive and it was too crowded to take it - took the stairs even after even so long a wait) . Found ourselves taking the (rather busy stairs) from our rooms on the 6th and 10th floors. In 2026 it is reasonable to expect elevator service.

I liked the staff who were super helpful and kind. I did not like the breakfast that was provided before 11.

The bed was one of the worst I’ve ever experienced and I travel a lot. Hard as a rock and the rooms would not get cold. Hardly a 4 star hotel. PM staff were lovely.

The Evelyn Hotel was old world class in the perfect midtown location. We were greeted by staff and treated with kindness and respect the entire stay. They worked with us to provide an early check-in, provided water, and clear communication about the amenities. The room was clean, cozy and comfortable. We loved having heated floors in the bathroom, and the ability to open windows and control the A/C. We came and went often and the doormen were always there to greet us with a smile and open the doors for us. We enjoyed a light breakfast each morning which was excellent. I think they could offer a few more choices, but the items we had were healthy and delicious. I highly recommend this hotel and definitely would stay here again.

An old hotel beautifully maintained as seen on the photos available on website. As is common the room was small but well situated with just the right furniture in the room to accommodate suitcases. Not a Closter phobic experience at all. But an even bigger issue can be not enough outlets for all our devices in old hotels. There was some updating with outlets but there should be more. Thankfully there was enough for all we needed. The bathroom was updated but kept in the design of the hotel which was a nice touch. Overall, a very nice experience with restaurant, bar (great cocktail menu), cafe, which also has its own great cocktail menu, customer service. I would return.

There was one very helpful man working up front, but everyone else was not helpful at all.

Location Outside noise could be heard all night. Breakfast very limited, only one lift working so long wait times to/from floors.

This hotel is the best of the best… It is top-notch everything, superb staff, well maintained, great location, I love the heated bathroom floor when getting up in the middle of the night
