We were not aware before arriving that the property consists of two buildings across Esplanade Avenue from each other. The front office, parking and pool are at the main property, while our room was across the street. That meant parking behind the main building and carrying our luggage across a fairly busy Esplanade Avenue to reach our room, which was inconvenient. Housekeeping was also not automatic. We had to request through the front desk if we wanted the room made up each day, and barely enough towels were provided for two people. The room we received was not the balcony room we had booked, which was disappointing. The hot tub was out of service during our stay. The pool itself was nice, although it sits immediately beside the parking area, so it does not feel especially private. The bed was also extremely firm. The cleanliness, helpful staff and location were definite positives, but clearer information about the two separate buildings, room assignment and amenities would have made for a much better experience.

The place is really run down, but the room and bathroom were clean. The property is located in two different locations that are across the street and down the block from each other. It makes unloading and loading luggage a slight inconvenience if you’re not staying in the same location as paid parking. That said, parking is gated and secure, but you must reserve ahead of time because it is very limited. Staff was very friendly, patient, and helpful. I really wanted to swim but didn’t end up using the pool because it was located at the other building and I didn’t want to walk up and back down Esplanade Street in a swimsuit and towel.

Big up for the position, less then 10 minutes form French quarters and the center. Also the pool is top notch

This was Amazing! Our first room upstairs was great, but the toilet was flushing slow, so the next day she moved us downstairs and it was perfect. This is a 1800's mansion with tons of character. The pool and HOT tub were great. Everything was super clean! I just wished it was a little closer to Bourbon Street. we walked it the first night and I was Tuckered out. but we drove to everything else. You can park there, but we parked on the street for free and there was always parking. I definitely recommend this place.!

Older building but we'll maintained. Walk to heart of bourbon/frenchman Street not long (15min). Quiet evenings. Staff was nice and helpful.

My partner and I had a really lovely time in New Orleans and Rathbone Mansions was perfect for what we needed in a hotel. The room was a decent size, and clean with air conditioning. We also much enjoyed the pool area as it was exceptionally hot and muggy while we were there. The location was ideal as it was walking distance to the French Quarter but still far enough to have some peace and quiet in between tourist activities. The room didn't really offer much wardrobe space to store away clothes. Since we only stayed a couple of nights that was no drama for us but had we stayed longer, living out of the suitcase might have become a bit more tedious. It was also a bit of a shame that the hotel didn't offer any snacks or beverages for purchase, so it was a matter of planning ahead and buying stuff at the corner shop up the road to store in the fridge available in the hotel room. Again, no drama but would have been a bit more convenient.

Location was great, room was lovely as were the outdoor spaces. The bed and bedding were comfortable and of high quality.

If you want old, quaint, stylish hotel, Rathbone Mansions might be a good option for you. We liked the antique flair and location, but did not like the fact we reserved a superior king room and it looked nothing like the photos on Expedia. Our room was across the street from the main building (hence, "Mansions"), and it was very sub-par, especially for what we paid and we assumed we were getting. At least the bed was comfortable and the shower hot. The pool area is small and crowded with people smoking IN the pool despite signs stating no smoking allowed in the pool area. Also, we were awakened at 12:30a-1:00a by a large group of very drunk women who were staying in our "mansion", yelling across the 3 floors and carrying on like they were the only ones there for quite a while. It is New Orleans, after all, and I guess to be expected being so close to the Quarter...When I went to check out Sunday morning, the door for the main building was locked from the inside, but the clerk acted like it was my fault for bothering her. She did not even ask "how was your stay", nothing. Luckily, we were able to find parking on the street close by. You have to "reserve" parking inside the hotel fence by calling ahead, I guess. This hotel has so much potential, but we won't be back to see if they attain it.

Lots of amazing detail in every part of the space. The person at the desk was very helpful. Hope to stay again soon.

Perfect accommodations for my large family in town for a wedding Smoking allowed in the pool area, so on a hot humid day, it could be unbearable to be in the pool area with guests who were chain smoking

The neighbourhood is super nice, 10/15min walk from frenchman street and bars area, so it´s quiet but close enough to go to town and enjoy. Lots of typical houses around, plants, etc. The flat is nice, with a room + toilet, small living room and small but useful kitchen. It´s a typical NOLA house which is also nice. And the swimming pool comes in handy at times during hot days. As any other "old" house, it comes with its perks but nothing major or worth noting. The kitchen supplies come a bit short... so adding some extra spoons, forks, and a few other things could come in handy. That being said when we arrived we requested a few things and they quickly supplied them.

The Mansion is in close proximity to the local attractions. It was clean and very comfortable. My wife and I took advantage of the transit system which had several stops close by, including the trolley. We'll be booking here again. I highly recommend.

Cheap, convenient, and historic. I hate to leave a review. I was able to find street parking here which is amazing!
