Midtown Hotel - Downtown New Orleans

The hotel had been updated. The rooms did have some nice remodeling however, there were places you could tell that they painted over the old and the lamps had rust on them. We did request another set of fresh towels and washcloths and the front desk lady brought them right up to us. The air was cold, but there was also a portable air unit in the room which confused us. The pool looked nice and they were like small cabanas around the pool however we were not able to access it because they closed at nine and we checked in right near that time. The only bad thing that we ran into was the water only got lukewarm in the bathtub and in the sink. They’re also was not a refrigerator or a microwave and that would’ve been helpful. The chair that was in the room was also sunk in and was not even able to be sat in. Overall, the room was not bad and we would stay again. They just need to pay attention to a few details and definitely fix the hot water issue.

Room I was given smelled of urine and I got an allergic reaction from mold or mildew. All rooms were booked and told me a manager wouldn’t be in till Monday to refund me. They placed me in a room with no TV. The next day there was a private event going on for hours with over 60 people at the pool no mention of this and was unable to sleep much at all during the day before I had to go to work. Wouldn’t recommend.

No fridge, no microwave, most of the rooms were being renovated, there was unfinished projects on every floor. They charged an extra $50 for an additional guests that only stayed 1 out of 5 nights. The paint was peeling everywhere and chipped drywall pushed into opening around the mirrored vanity. They also put us in a room with a external AC unit that was connected to an open window with more exposed drywall. Absolutely awful, the only think good about it was the price and proximity to out main destination. They will find any excuse to upsell their crappie rooms. Do not come here unless you don't care about your comfort and are on a tight budget. Did I mention they had giant palmetto bugs.
