Hotel Morgan a Wyndham Hotel

This hotel has so much potential. Attractively decorated, spacious, clean rooms. Hip looking lobby. Friendly front desk staff. The problems seem easy to address, but apparently they are challenging. The hallway on my floor reeked of tobacco *and* weed smoke. To the point of it being nauseating. Front desk said yeah, that happens a lot, nothing they can do,. "We expect people to have common sense." Why not do what other hotels do? Put "no smoking" signs in the room or halls and/or upon check-in? Penalize with a fine when the rule is ignored? (I stay in hotels of all kinds some 30 nights a year and have never experienced this degree of weed odor.) Other issues: Awakened by super loud housekeepers who were banging doors open and shot and having extended conversations right outside my door. They then knocked on my door to say "housekeeping" when there was a do not disturb sign! There was no hair dryer in the room and it took a couple of calls to the front desk to get one because the housekeepers had disappeared from the hall (leaving their cleaning supplies behind.) I wanted to like the place. And the front desk people were friendly. There just needs to be some more oversight of operations .

Property is beautiful. Clean. Bar area looked very nice, although we didn't have time to try it out. Easy to get in and around downtown Morgantown. Room was expansive and spacious. Great place to stay!

Very clean very nice had an old classic vibe staff was very helpful and friendly great location the bed was so comfortable really enjoyed my stay at hotel Morgan definitely going to stay again sometime in the future

Facility was very clean and staff was always friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the valet parking as well. We traveled for a procedure at the hospital so there was no time to really do much of anything else. The traffic but that has nothing to do with the hotel.

Restaurant Nothing

When booking through Expedia was not told that there was a two night minimum for the weekend I was staying. The so called bar was never opened and when I asked was just told it’s not open tonight. Well it was closed all three nights. On night three when arriving back to room my room key did not work. Went to desk where I waited 15 minutes for someone to come to desk. Only after calling the front desk multiple times did the employee who was somewhere finally came out. You have to pay extra for parking.

I enjoy how the rooms are laid out, and the furniture is nice. The bathroom is a nice size. Can't say that I disliked anything.

We enjoyed our stay. My only complaint was that my side of the Bed had now bedside lamp.

The staff was very helpful and took care of matters in a timely fashion. The location is great, so close to WVU. I would recommend staying here. We will stay again .

Suggest retaining entire staff, unprofessional attitudes and unacceptable atire for a downtown hotel. Communication was severely lacking between front desk and valet. Scheduled a vehilce pick up at 0620, went to pick it up and the valet come to find out he doesn't open until 0700. Ideally promote to unaffiliated civilian.

Room was amazing, and the staff was very helpful.

1)Downtown and walkable to restaurants/bars 2)Good bed Cons: 1) smells like smoke/must in the lobby and hallways 2)shower was not cleaned as there was shampoo on the basin floor and hair on the wall 3) valet so slow we just ended up self parking and retrieving from the valet parking lot 4) employees hang in the bar and get up when guests come in - just a sloppy look 5) bar wasn’t serving alcohol- huh? 6) towels were out of a youth hostel - tattered and thin

Best shower in any hotel ever: good water pressure and the water warmed up quickly. Bed was comfortable and the room was nicely decorated.

Beautiful place! Rooms are great! Staff wonderful! Only downside is the noisy outside !
