The bed was very comfortable The place of the motel is nice quite and close to the beach But The room was not well clean There were ants The faucets were in bad shape making difficult to control the flow of hot/cold water There was not tv No microwave Toiletries were ran out in sink and shower

The room was very poorly up kept lots of dust on the blinds and the lamps there was mold in the bathroom and grime and handprints on the walls the curtains don't open all the way and there is no air flow or ac and windows don't open all the way, we called to request a fan and they said they didn't have any and hung up on us. The grounds and beaches are very beautiful and it looks nice on the outside but the inside is very outdated and musty.

We spent two nights at the Asilomar conference center. The location is excellent - just a walk off the property to the state beach, and the amenities at the conference center was excellent, the main hall was so nice to hang out at in the evening with pool tables, piano, board games, and outside fire pits. The rooms on the other hand are super basic and look like no improvements since the 70’s. There were no fridges, kettles, one tiny pillow each, and for that reason we would not stay at this place again. Staff were all helpful and nice!

Our room was in desperate need of renovations and repairs. There was black mold growing around the bathtub; the carpet clearly hadn’t been changed in decades. The wood threshold leading to the bathroom was rotting away with rusty screws heads sticking out. Our bathroom amenities like the shower gel and shampoo were empty. We requested refills or replacements of the amenities but they were never addressed during our entire 4 day stay. During checkout the desk clerk refused to give us a receipt for our stay, stating we needed to contact Expedia for a receipt.

Atmosphere is great. Rooms are dated

Our room was clean and comfortable, and we were delighted to see deer and wild turkeys outside our window each morning. We really enjoyed the breakfast options each day.

The grounds are wonderful for walking to breakfast, walking along the beach, etc. the Julia Morgan architecture is lovely. Breakfast was large and delicious. The place was very quiet and peaceful. But our room was in very poor repair: sink leaked (despite drought water shortage warnings), toilet got clogged for no apparent reason (though someone can very quickly to fix it), no shower gel in the dispenser, shower dial had a very tiny range where the water was an acceptable temperature, the curtains didn’t close all the way, and the door chain security lock was installed backwards and thus useless (though we had no safety concerns here). Also the room is not well thought out — the mattresses were too soft, the pillows too thick and hard; there were no bedside tables on both sides of the double beds, so no place to put your things when you go to sleep; overhead lighting was very dim, and there are no shelves or drawers to put your clothing away, only a few hangers. The price was good, but not great, for a room in such poor repair.

I only heard that Asilomar was beautiful so thought I would check it out.unfortunately for $300 a night you don’t get much. A very small room with no television no frig. The breakfast was incredibly bad. But if you looking for peaceful stay in a beautiful location definitely try it out

Very rustic. The sink wouldn't turn off.
-
I love how close it is to the beach, the 105 acre park that it has, and the excellent breakfast they provided. A lovely place to stay and enjoy.

There is no TV or fridge in the room. Room cleanness is terrible. Mold on the tiles. Hair in the tub. The lock on the door is loose. The room need a full renovation! It’s like 40 years old.

Nice location super dated and underwhelming rooms wouldn’t really recommend
-
It is a nice place with beautiful environment. However, the ants are everywhere in the room. The curtain is single layer, the street light can go thru after sunset. No drinking water in the room, you need to prepare it before you get there. The continental breakfast is okay, but coffee. The checkout is easy- just drop off the key. Due to this, you could not receive a printout receipt or an estimated receipt even you ask the staff to get one.
