Basic but pleasant hotel with plenty of room for 4 of us. Ideal for a quick stay.

For the price I’d say this place was pretty good. The property is really cute and has SO much potential. We went into the office to check in and I thought it was a little weird they have a kiosk with a foreign operator on camera to check you in, all while there is a real person behind the desk in the same room with you, I felt a little awkward. The room was clean, smelled a little musty, I was slightly disappointed that there was no tub, just a shower. On checkout day we left pretty early and went out, not too far, site seeing when we realized we left something really sentimental. We called the office and they made sure to have it for us when we came back a few hours later. We really appreciated that the most. I would definitely come back here, but maybe book another room.

I have stayed here multiple times and have not had many problems, enough times the staff recognizes me. I don't know why they assigned me a room that smelled as if it had been closed up for a long period of time. Hence the problems with the door lock and the TV not working. If you have loyal repeat customers don't give them the worst rooms on the property.

Nice hotel. Clean room to stay in.

Clean room. No pool, but very close everything downtown. A short drive or inexpensive uber driver. Beds were comfy and shower had good water pressure. Only proteas check-in. They had someone at the desk. But wanted you to use the live chat kiosk. And was unable to hear the person talking to me. So I had the desk clerk and the video receptionist both talking to me and telling me what to do. I just say pick one.

The room was sizable & quiet. I felt secure as a single traveler! The room was also very clean.

The place is very old and still retains pop corn ceilings in their rooms. The rooms are under fire hazard. Their lightning fixtures are wired incorectly. The wiring shows and some of the wiring is rubbing against cloth draips. The bathroom looked very old and was patched up and was dirty from the vents. Seems like they never clean their vents. There was no curtesy check out for us. The staff/owners make racial remarks again fellow indians. No professionalism at all. The property charges way too much for what it has to office. Very unsatisfied with our stay here. Would not ever recommend this hotel to anybody.

Had a great time, very comfortable

the motel was nice and in a very great location. our room had some busing noise from the room above but nothing crazy. would stay there again.

We stayed 5 nights during car week and would definitely consider staying here again! Here’s what you should keep in mind when booking at this hotel: There is no elevator to the second floor, and no breakfast of any kind. However, there are several places nearby to dine. Parking in the front lot for large SUVs is tight, but there’s plenty of street parking available. The location is a 20 minute walk to the piers, even shorter to old town Monterey, and a short drive to Cannery Row and the aquarium,

In fact ,,I hardly ever write a negative review. When we arrived at the Arbor Inn, we were initially greeted by a remote person on a computer screen! Then ,,when we balked at the inappropriate greeting, two people emerged from a room behind the check in desk. We related that we were not amused by the remote greeting. The two were nice and listened to our dismay. Next, we were given a room on the main st. Made reservations months in advance and asked for quiet location. It’s on Munras which is very busy & noisy! Air conditioning sounds like a jet landing at local airport. Do not stay here! It awakened us all night! And it smelled. The room was clean inside I have to say. Exterior ,,, cob webs everywhere! Needs a power wash. Did not match the clean room inside. Bed was adequate . Tv , there was-no streaming. When you work all day, you might want to watch a movie of your choice. Clean linens. It was car week, so we prepaid 6 days, but the price we payed was ridiculous! 2 stars at best. .

First of all, this is an "inn," not a 5-star luxury hotel. With that being said, it was a pleasant stay. I stayed 3 nights in the summer. I booked a 1 queen bed room, but was given a "free upgrade" upon arrival to a 2 queen bed room (room 110). The lady at the office was very courteous and professional. Thank you! The room was very spacious, very clean! The beds were super comfortable, we loved them! The location is perfect, walking distance to Old Monterey (many dining options) and Fisherman's Wharf. The only negative things were: loud noise inside the walls coming down from the upstairs room (drainage noises), crawling noises (rats?) inside the walls starting very early morning, the noise of the cars driving by (busy street during daytime), and parking (not enough, had to park on street once because lot was full). Other than that, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. I will definitely return.

The room was great and I would stay here again no problem.

We had a good stay here. Check-in was easy; the room was in good shape and close to where we could park. The hotel was within comfortable walking distance to restaurants and shops, as well as public transportation and the town trolley.

The staff we very sweet and helpful. I can't for the life of me figure out why this place is rated so high though. The rooms were cramped, you can hear so much through the walls, and specifically the rooms on the bottom floor, on the north side, are right next to an indoor pool, so it was very loud except for over night when the pool was closed.

Staff was excellent and the room is clean and well-maintained, but they really need to invest in some new pillows. I’ve never slept on pillows that lumpy before and I hope to never again.
