Good for a quick stay, wouldn’t stay there long term.

Great location, easy check in. Expensive for what you get but that’s Newport in the summer

The woman at the counter when we first checked in spoke so softly that I had to lean over the counter to hear her. She informed me that the room was 2 queen beds and then when I told her it was supposed to be a king sized bed she replied with such a snooty "ummm, nooooo" that was kind of caught off guard and just accepted the room with 2 queen beds. Then after getting into the room I decided to check my email from Expedia with my confirmation and sure enough it was for 1 king bed. I showed the girl at the desk and she came up with such a lame excuse about the third party website overbooking their rooms and there were no king bed rooms available. I don't see how that is possible since there were 3 cars in the lot. After arriving back to the hotel after a night out, we walk in and there was a customer talking to a man behind the counter, and as we round the corner, that same man that was at the counter, left the customer and followed us back to the room where he proceeded to ask my girlfriend "can I have one?" pointing to her pack of cigarettes. Very unprofessional.

Location was good but that was about it.

Staff was ok, the area had enough places to choose what to eat , the beach was like 20 mins . From the hotel , better restaurants around the beach

The Red Roof Inn staff was nice and helpful. Everything worked. They offer a free breakfast that was simple but adequate. It is basically a nice motel experience. It was what we could afford and it worked out nicely for a night in Newport.

Check in was simple and and the gentleman that checked us in was friendly. Rooms are outdated but clean.

They provided expired yogurt during breakfast; the expiration date was July 28. I ate it, and afterward, the front-desk staff removed the yogurt. Since then, I have experienced stomach pain and discomfort.

Conveniently located about 10 minutes away from Newport, RI. The property was not clean. The entrance leading to the front desk had a foul smell, as did the hallways. There was a musty smell in our room. Some of the front desk staff were not attentive or available. We observed a staff member outside smoking and on his cell phone. Pull out coach in our room had no available sheets and there were stains on the mattress. When I asked for bedding for the sofa, I was given only ONE flat sheet and nothing else. The breakfast food they provided did not seem fresh or sanitary.

Sheets were clean but if you picked them up the beds underneath were dirty with brown spots and hairs. Bathroom was clean but didn’t trust sleeping in the bed. Didn’t get or see bed bugs so that’s good but couldn’t lay me to stay there again. Couldn’t leave fast enough. I don’t know how the stars were as high as they were.

The room was not as described on the website (which claimed it was a suite) and in actuality it was a standard room with a King Size bed. This was especially important as we were traveling with a baby and needed the separate space- had we known we never would’ve booked the hotel. Then they also claimed to have infant beds on the website as well, but upon arrival, we were told that we needed to make a “special request”, though that’s not indicated on the site, and that there were no more infant beds available. In addition, the staff was not particularly helpful or empathetic in any of these situations, only restating these policies. In addition, they loudly knocked on our door at 1am saying that the baby was crying, as if one, we weren’t aware, and two, that is not typical behavior of babies. Furthermore, at the conclusion of our trip, we were charged $25 because the baby had a small accident on the sheets & once dropped a bit of syrup on the sheets- a policy I’ve certainly never heard of in hotels with replacing sheets due to stains (it’s part of the cost of running a hotel business)! At the exorbitant 4/5 star luxury hotel rates this 2 star motel/inn is charging, you would expect better service, more empathetic staff, and a place that would be more amenable to families. Would never return!

It is ok place to stay. The room was clean but no closet. There is a pool, but there was only four lounge chairs, so there was no really place to lay down but again for Newport in the middle of August it was a decent price and place to stay and
