Clarion Hotel & Conference Center Lewiston

The property seems to be under new management. They are doing some renovations and bringing the property back to life. The only thing I might suggest is fixing the ice machine and adding to the breakfast buffet.

Booked this hotel because it was right off the highway and had the Clarion name. I cannot recommend anyone to stay at this hotel even though it is inexpensive. It is so run down, the halls and rooms smell. Truthfully this hotel is very old and run down.l and felt unsafe with poor locks.

Room was dirty. Toilet was plugged. No towels delivered after being requested

phone was not hooked up remote did not work had to get key reprogrammed the next day breakfast was cold and not stocked there were no plates food etc had to ask for everything only 1 person in breakfast to stock food etc ran out of coffee was finished meal before coffee was ready not enought staff hotel was run down very different to pictures on line when going to the bathroom you cannot close door

Seemed like they were understaffed. Lots of trouble with key cards, late breakfast, hard to find staff members to help.

I only gave a few items four stars because this property is still being renovated. My room was clean, neat and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful. The outside and other areas still need work but that did not affect my stay.

The white comforters had stains from being old. I had to go buy myself a blanket because I just couldn’t

The pool was cold . The hot tub was cold. The sauna was broken. There was a flashing light in the room all night on the smoke detector in the staff was useless to help on anything.

Exceptional

However, a number of issues pulled down my rating: Safety issue: No non-slip tub surfaces, meant that turning on the water creates a slick surface due to the dripping soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers. Irritation issues: Smoke detector above the bed would flash white light periodically while trying to sleep. The TV could not be operated via remote (remote had good batteries). TV could not be turned off without unplugging it (on/off switch malfunction). After the last power outage, no one bothered to reset the room clocks.

When we arrived people were smoking weed outside our door. I ask for a new room. Staff was VERY accommodating. The room was very clean. Shower did not work so our bill was reduced.

Breakfast buffet had a great selection of food, but again temperature of the food , not hot.

There was no hot water to take a shower in the morning. So I went down to the front desk and they gave us another room that someone else stayed in and there were dirty clothes left behind. There were no towels so i had to go get them. My wife was so put out she just wanted to leave without a shower and all the bull we put up with.

First off, I couldn't get into my room. Then, you guys changed my room and charge me for it I didn't like the fact that I paid $200 for a meal that I couldn't eat and on top of that. I want to use your bathroom and there was no soap in any of the soap dispensers in the men's room and when I went to the front office, the lady told me, oh there's plenty of soap in the lady's room, yeah, I will never be going back there. And I will never refer them to nobody very lousy hotel

Price and location Our toilet ran all night, even after saying something. My TV didn't work. The saunas AND hot tub were "out of order" but had clearly been used as there was a pool float in the hot tub and soaking wet towels all over the floor in the sauna changing area. 1 of the 2 rooms I booked had no fridge OR microwave...and that was after they changed rooms because the original room we were put in had the bed on the FLOOR, no desk or nightstand!! I get that the hotel is undergoing renovations but the rooms that aren't done should be blocked off! They should NOT be renting out 1/2 completed rooms! The most GHETTO place I have ever stayed and I travel quite a bit, and not always to the best places. Avoid this hotel until they announce that the renovations are complete!! There is so much potential there, but not worth being open and getting bad reviews while they get there

Very poorly landscaped upon arrival. Room had stains on the light switch and floor upon room entry, bathroom base-moulding was peeled away, and TV screen had a pixle burnout line down the center. At 1145pm on a Monday night, there was a domestic disturbance 5 or 6 doors down. I was glad my daughter was asleep and did not hear the profanity-laced tirade. Unfortunately will not stay here again. The place needs work. Thumbs down.

Just as expected, nothing special. You get what you pay for.

Clean and a great breakfast. The hotel seems to be in the process of trying to increase it's star rating. When I stayed it was relatively cheap and great value.
