Best Western Kodiak Inn

The rooms are so old that the carpet is wet and moldy and sticky. Tiles falling from the tubs, mold growing on ceiling tiles, the floor, the tub, the toilet. The rooms are saturated with so much cigarette smoke that even your clothes when you arrive home stink from it. The windows dont work, there is no AC. The curtains stink of cigarette smoke. The refrigerators leak onto the carpet. The front desk staff is rude and useless. And the prices u pay for this run down hotel are ridiculous. However the breakfast was decent.

You can also access a back parking lot from the end past our room . Breakfast was good, and included by voucher, we ate at the restaurant itself the first night and was pleased with the offerings and the quality . The prices were reasonable for Alaska , and Kodiak being an island . The staff was kind and helpful. Because it sits into the side of a hill there is challenges for parking but they have additional parking area, so if when folks are arriving they check with the front desk they'll tell you where that area is. This is also basically in the middle of town so you can walk once you're parked almost everywhere and it's right across from the harbor. Breakfast is looking over the harbor, as well as the same thing you can do for dinner if you choose to eat there this was a great experience and a great place to stay

The staff was very helpful with our check in and with things to do in the town

My room had no A/C or heat, I was at the mercy of a window that opened 4" + fan. Twas hot in the pm, chilly in the am.../Maint said that this side of hotel doesn't have air:0. bathroom had blue tape on wall where apparently mounting new soap/shampoo thing. the table that belonged on wall next to wall unit was blocking what you would think would be the air/heat unit. on a good note, restaurant was excellent.

While situationally located for our trip. I must say the place is dated. IMO very expensive at over $300/ night. The breakfast is just okay. You can preregister before arriving but you end up doing the same thing all over again at the front desk the place is average in an extraordinary town

Nice place to stay

The best place to stay in Kodiak. But, Kodiak is a small town with lots of hard workers. Do not expect the Four Seasons. You can expect a clean room (daily), friendly service, close proximity to shopping and restaurants, good food on premises, shuttle service to/from airport, fresh cookie upon check-in, and a very Alaskan atmosphere. The property is a little dated and the snack bar could use a little more variety, but I will stay here again.

The room was freezing cold as the heater does not work. They sent maintenance up and said it was fixed but it wasn’t. Then the second night, after borrowing blankets from my son to keep warm, we were kept up for hours by an arguing couple in the room below us. We had to call 911 and are now waiting for the police to show up. Worst stay in any hotel ever.

The room was cold and made my stay very uncomfortable. The night clerk made me feel like I was annoying him. The day clerk had a much more cheerful and welcoming personality when I left. The breakfast is good, just the nozzles for the drinks poured liquid very slowly. The entrance doors kept freezing so we had to push them upon entry. The "harbor view" is NOT a good view for the fireworks. The angle makes it difficult to get any nice photography. Everything else felt outdated. I thought "sofa bed" meant that it pulled out as an additional bed, but it didn't. So, if you want to put anyone on the sofa bed, it's really uncomfortable.

Breakfast was fine. Our room wasnt very clean and smelled off, the elevator smelled as well. Very noise with a bar singer until about 1030pm.

They will not change dates if booked through expedia. Now I have to try and do an insurance claim when I get home. It's Alaska and the weather is aways delaying small planes. They are making a killing stealing from people this way
