Calypso Cay Vacation Villas

Get to check in, they have that "time share" style crap tied to my reservation. I was 100% unaware of it. I listen to the guys spill. He says I'm essentially required to attend, or I would have to pay more, and also cover the breakfast that was part of their "selling point". The concept of it seems really cool, but they were super disrespectful of my time I needed to be out by. I told them 1245 at the absolute latest. I didn't get out until 110. I got there at 930, mind you. I have yet to figure out where my "free" week stay is. So on to the actual resort. First impression was "okay, cool!". Got into the room, super outdated. Get into the bedroom, and am completely exhausted. Flopped on the bed, and it made the worst worn out bed sound I have ever heard. Super uncomfortable. Shower had alot of soap scum in it. There was a bad storm that blew through, and the sliding screen door sounded like a tornado coming through. The loudest whistle in the gap. Sofa and chair were very dated. Elevator barely worked. Extremely slow. The pool was fun and pretty. Loved the amenities offered. We only did the pool. Ran out of time for anything else. I would consider staying here again for the price paid. But I have little to no respect for their sales tactics. There were 5 levels of sales people. Just an FYI. They also said it's stated here somewhere. So I guess make sure you read what you're getting into!

There are better places to stay than this. Their adventure park is closed, the resort fee doesn’t include everything, and we found the staff to be really unprofessional. The hard pitch to do their time share bordered on harassment. You can get much better properties for half the price. We won’t be back.

We have stayed at Calypso Cove several times and usually we don’t have issues but this stay was horrible, we were given a handicap room so the shower was super small and after ever shower the floor was super wet, our balcony was flooded even when it didn’t rain and the sun was out very disappointing not able to enjoy the balcony. Also and this happens every time with every room we stay the TV doesn’t work, always have to fix it myself or luckily we travel with a Roku so we can enjoy TV. This was a very disappointing stay.

The putt putt golf and zip line were NOT in working order and that is one of the reasons I booked there. Very disappointing for me and my grandson. That was part of his birthday gift and they don’t tell you before hand. Very disappointed.

Loved every bit of it.

The Wheelers

The resort offers Concierge service. But it’s tied to a time share presentation. I received a text from the concierge the day we checked in. I replied to let her know I was not interested in a time share presentation but that I would like assistance in getting Disney tickets. No response after that. One of the two pool areas across the street had an outdoor bar and grill, a nice place to relax. The other pool area across the street had building which was once a Dunkin Donuts per the picture on Hotels.com, now it’s just has non-alcohol drinks, and ice cream. Our room was clean but dated as the pictures reflect. My 4 year old pulled a fishhook out of the living room carpet (we did not fish or have equipment during our stay) and my toddler picked up a screw from under a chair. The elevator inspection paper expired a year ago but we road it anyway. We got a great deal on the three bedroom apartment. It met our family’s needs, but we will probably book another property next time.

Only complaint is the lack of hot water in the room. Everything else was good.

Management is trying to maintain the property but it needs upgrades. Some of the amenities advertised online are no longer available. That must be addressed. Overall, decent stay.

The stay was good but it’s been a month since my stay and they still haven’t released my deposit back to me.

Great bar and pool areas

I absolutely love this place. My three year old grandson has so much fun at the crab pool, his favorite spot. We have visited twice and will continue too. Truly looking forward to all the amenities being available soon. Staff at the Starbucks/ store could really use some costumer service skill. All other staff we encounter was friendly and helpful. Thank you , we will be back🙌❤️
