Blue Marlin Motel

Rooms are clean Pool is clean Staff is very polite Great location and we will be back we miss it already .. Our bed was on the hard side and probably should be replaced as you can tell is older but really don't want to complain and hopefully they will replace older mattresses... We will be back ..

The hotel itself was perfectly located within walking distance of all the places we wanted to see (Southernmost point buoy, Hemingway House, Mallory Square, and Duval Street). Our room was spacious and impeccably clean. They did a remarkable job of de-odorizing the room to keep it fresh despite the seaweed/sulfur smell that was strong on this part of the island. Parking was worth the small fee with an assigned/guaranteed spot. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. We left pretty early in the morning so did not take advantage of the free breakfast, but it looked like a lovely set up out near the pool. The hotel is only 2 floors, but there is no elevator. The stairs feel steep when you are dragging a larger suitcase up!

We had some minor issues with lighting and television remote, but both were fixed quickly and pleasantly. Location was ideal. Continental breakfast at pool side was adequate for our needs. The pool was quite nice. Nothing the hotel could have done anything about. The odor from sargassum was hard to get used to.

Breakfast was very minimal. No fresh coffee, I could make in my room or go to the check in desk. No real fresh fruit (apples wrapped in plastic. other than that, some danishes, toast, and yogurt.. Room was good and clean, so no problem with room. I had assigned parking outside my room (which I had to pay for). Twice someone from the hotel stall or repairmen parked in my spot. Which made me upset, front desk person didn't even know who's vehicle it was.

staff is the best..

Our room was very quiet. We couldn't hear anything going on out by the pool or any other rooms. The location was great. We were able to walk downtown, and it didn't take too long to get there. The water presser could have been a bit better. We couldn't find the vending machines, but I'm sure I didn't look too hard for them.

Breakfast

The location was perfect, and both of the rooms that we reserved were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was a nice surprise (I did not recall this being included) and perfect for a small snack before taking pictures at the southernmost point. The staff who checked us in were wonderful too! We checked in just before 3; one of our rooms was just being finished, but the other was still being prepared for about 20 minutes, which held up our entire party.
