It was a nice hotel to stay the night. It was clean. Room needed just a little updating. The only downside is the room is very small with a king size bed. No room to get off one side of bed because you're only a foot off the wall. Need some rearranging. Only one end table. We have two CPAP machines so one had to go in the floor. But looks like they're trying to fix it up.

So this is the 4th time I've stayed at a New Victorian Inn in Nebraska and it's always a reasonable choice if you're looking for a budget property that is at least a small step above other budget hotels. It was clean and comfortable with no frills at all. Also, I have always have had good luck with front desk staff, and they have made efforts to help (for example on this last trip we had trouble with the tv remote and we were promptly moved to a different room where the remote and tv worked fine). Another thing is the New Vic doesn't have the "corporate vibe" like larger chains. (Some people like that, and it CAN be comforting to those who are a little more sensitive, but in general I like New Vic's more casual vibe. Having said that, if "money was no object" I'd stay at the Country Inn & Suites.) New Vic's breakfast is very basic but I had toast with cream cheese, a piece of fresh fruit and coffee...which tided me over until lunch on the road. The breakfast area was clean and the breakfast person kept on eye open to make sure items were re-stocked and kept it tidy...so that's a good thing. Keep an eye on the prices of competitors and go with the best available all things considered...(a week later I stayed at the Microtel in Kearney for $12 more and it was worth the extra cost just because things weren't as dated, but other times the Microtel has been $25 more and usually it's not worth that premium to me). Summing it up: on this trip I stayed at the New Vic with my 17yr old daughter and I wouldn't have done that if I felt it was "dodgy". A bit worn at the edges.

I needed to stay 2 nights in Kearney and this hotel was a lower price than most in Kearney. The room was damp, the bed was damp, and it smelled like mold. The carpet felt gross so I kept my shoes on. I tried to tough to tough it out but the first night there was so much noise. Doors slamming all hours and the room above me was really really loud. Justing all over all night. I did not sleep, but it was mostly due to the bed being so damp. I ended up juat checking out and staying at a different hotel that was more but 100000% worth it with clean sheets, clean room and everything smelled clean. Staff was nice.

Very clean. KERN welcomed us when we checked in with such warmth and kindness, making sure we had everything we needed. Quiet rooms. Few more options for breakfast but it was adequate for a quick breakfast.

Everything was very clean and smelled good. Location was easy to find. Checked in with "Kern" who was very kind, super helpful and made us feel so welcome. Price was excellent and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was fine. They did offer waffles as well as sausage gravy and biscuits for hot items. There were options of yogurt and fruit as well. It was adequate for our basic needs.

I stop here every year and stay. The staff is very polite and the room is always cleaned well. Great place

Nice quiet place to stay.

One night stop on my way to Denver. Staff was friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable. Not far from the freeway. Decent breakfast in the morning. If I ever need to stay in Kearney again I would stay here.

Clean, safe property on an access road. Breakfast is carb-heavy, don’t expect proteins. Room was spacious, with fridge & micro. No complaints there. Good for a 1 night stay. Area is busy with gas stations & convenience stores.

Super friendly and helpful staff. Very clean and comfortable!
