Do NOT stay here. Its very run down. The elevators sound like the cables are rubbing together and probably havent had service in years. The carpets are beyond filthy. Our toilet seat has been urine stained and are a health hazard. The lobby is filthy. The exterior is falling apart and the tile leading into the bldg is a tripping hazard. Also, there was no way to control our rm heat other than opening the window. The staff is rude and dont seem to care about anything. They are supposely a Best Western facility. We left two days early to escape the filth. Juneu sucked. Wont go back.

big, the king bed and pillows were very comfortable. Location to downtown excellent. The ice machines on our floor and another floor were out of order, but I was able to get ice from the front desk. Our room had a door to the adjoining room. When we were sitting on our bed we could hear every word that was said next door and even the zipper noise as they opened their suitcases. After I put in ear plugs, I slept like a baby. The price was reasonable.

Avoid like the plague!!! This hotel has an ancient heating system and they/you are unable to turn down the thermal heating in rooms. The walls radiated with heat and during mid 60 Degree days the rooms were unbearable with the windows completely open during the night. It was the absolute worst hotel experience during my lifetime and I travel a lot. Everyone in the hotel also complained and management acted like nothing was wrong. A maintenance man confirmed they are unable to turn off the thermal heating because all the showers would have nothing but ice cold water. Seriously it was actually that bad!!!

Will not stay there again

Historic hotel with excellent, helpful staff. Only stayed 1 night post cruise but would stay again for short stay. Appreciated that staff allowed early check in without additional charge.
-
No air conditioning and ice machines were mostly out of order.
-
The hotel is not fancy, but among Juneau hotels it appears to be the best, Staff was good and informative. Baranoffs is located in the heart of the downtown area.

Evening Staff unavailable to answer our phone calls, email, or text. Requested morning wake-up call never came. Beautiful hotel, but unacceptable service.
-
Breakfast sucked I was early for check-in So I asked to store my bags They made me carry them to the bag room Finishes we're decaying everywhere bad for Best Western

The Baranof is undergoing remodeling. Some things, such as the towel rack in our bathroom which had been pulled out of the wall on one side, were less than perfect.
-
Very convenient but dated hotel with more of a motel feel. Hallways smell of febreeze, rooms poorly ventilated and with hot days will be very uncomfortable even with fans. Great location. Staff varied in helpfulness.
-
Seemingly under renovation……very old……scary elevators…….close to local interests…..not really a lot of options
-
the staff was not at all helpful in the breakfast area

Dirty, rundown, dark and dingy, inattentive staff. The worst hotel I have stayed in 30 years. Heat was running in the room. Had to open the window and run the AC (with a ducktaped vent to the window) to keep the temperature bearable. Staff at the front desk did not care. Door trim at the elevator had been ripped off. Absolutely dreadful. I can't belive you sell this hotel.

Room was pretty small and outdated
-
I loved that there’s rice in the buffet! The staff were all kind and approachable.
-
Great location and great staff.
-
I saw a bear from my window.

It was very easy access to downtown. Museums were close.
