The Tweeddale Arms is located in the charming village of Gifford, 40 minutes’ drive from Edinburgh. It is at the foot of the Lammremuir Hills and within easy reach of 17 golf courses. The building dates back to 1685, and has views through lime trees to the nearby green and river. There is space for free parking nearby, and guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi. Rooms are all furnished in a traditional style, and offer a flat-screen TV and facilities for making tea and coffee. The private bathrooms come with a hairdryer for guests to use. It is just a 30-minute drive from Tweeddale to the coast at Berwick, and the historic market town of Haddington is 10 minutes away by car.

Room - single ensuite. Appropriate for needs, comfortable and clean. Hotel has been re-opened under new management for not very long and it is obvious they are n the midst of making improvements Food - supper and breakfast both excellent Staff - friendly and welcoming. Anxious to make sure everything is OK Location - lovely town. handy for where we needed to be Very little - room was a little tired but there's clearly an intention to upgrade the hotel based on the considerable work that has been done in the public spaces since I last stayed there under previous management. Tweedale deserves support.

Loved the history and the cleanliness Some of the younger staff in the kitchen/dining room were not attentive to customers and Instead would just chat in the kitchen with the cooks

We had a lovely stay at the Tweeddale Arms. The staff were wonderful, the hotel is so quaint, the bed was very comfortable and the food was great! I saw some negative reviews about the food but our meals were delicious - both dinner and the choices for continental breakfast. We’re so glad we found this place and booked it!

Beautiful surroundings, location gorgeous. Informed on arrival continental breakfast only, when cooked breakfast was expected and paid for. Bed comfortable.

In the centre of Gifford, friendly staff and nice room. Continental style breakfast was good, no cooked option. Plenty of parking on the street for my motorcycle and didn't notice any noise.

Room bit dusty ...no soap in dispensers in bathroom had to go out and buy some....no cooked breakfast which were looking forward to..just continental which wasn't advertised....wouldn't go back

Good hotel , friendly bar. Good location. Only one niggle but this is my personal preference and should not take anything away from the hotel was the continental breakfast just prefer a cooked one.
