We absolutely loved our stay at The Buxton. The staff are amazing. The location's proximity to CSU and Old Town Fort Collins make it ideal for a FoCo stay. While some things, like an in room refrigerator might be an issue for some, the other amenities more than make up for it. We enjoyed trying the red light mask and the Vegas nerve stimulator, and if things like the pink and black decor don't tell you all you need to know about the vibe, these might. What they've done to renovate this older motel is simply superb. The grounds and room were spotless. The morning coffee in the lobby was better than most other places we've stayed. The staff went above and beyond. We live local and we will certainly come back for another staycation in the future.

Great stay. We enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. The room has a great shower. The air conditioner was loud, but did the job to keep the room cool.

Disappointing

I’m normally a Marriott guy but would stay here ina heartbeat again. Beats any of the courtyard, Fairfield, and spring hill brands. Upgraded room amenities like towels, bedding, etc. it’s a converted motel but they did such a nice job with it. Great value and location to campus.

decorative updates $700 for 2 nights, clogged sink, dog hair on carpet, humid damp musty

The staff was really excellent and the hotel was just remodeled and has a fantastic vibe. Plus is right across the street from CSU.
-
Cute place right off CSU campus, many restaurants and shops within walking distance. Centralized location to enjoy Forte Collins. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Quirkyness - lot of fun nothing

Amazingly good location. Staff were very helpful. Beds were really comfortable. However it feels like a work in progress. Needs a chair in the room. Needs a towel rack near sink. No coffee pot in the room. Very nice restaurant on site. Just a few more amenities would really add to the stay.

The Buxton has a great staff, from everyone in the office all the way to all the kitchen team. Everybody was super friendly and went out of their way to acvomodate us. I love the funky design and really enjoyed using the bikes. We had decided to book at the Buxton to use the pool and jacuzzi which was not working while we were there. We were kind of bummed about the pool issue, but the night staff told is about the wellness facility. When we came down to inquire about using it the next morning, the team had a package waiting for us to go use it. That was so sweet!...Also, just realized this question was about what I 'didn't' like- nothing. You should be proud of your team working there, they are great!?

Only bummer was the doors close hard and loud.

Great location for proximity to CSU and Old Town. Super helpful staff made the stay enjoyable and overcame any issues. Renovation has made good use of the space, the room is clean and nicely finished, and the basics are all available. Better than expected.

Overall, it was clean and offered great complimentary coffee.

The property was fine, the staff performed to the best of their ability, and the amenities were nice. However, there was some confusion when I checked out one night earlier than anticipated. My partner and I left early due to a family emergency, and when I asked about a partial refund, I was directed to Expedia, where I booked. When I attempted to reach Expedia, I was directed to the travel insurance that I’d purchased. To be honest, it felt like no one wanted to be say, “You’re not going to receive a partial reimbursement”, which sucked.

Checking in was so easy! And the guy checking us in was amazing we got in late and he was so kind! Loved the rooms! Definitely will be back!

The remodel is very cute and kitschy. However, the "xtra" they advertise is mostly fluff (vintage clothing rack in lobby, old-school bikes, a red light therapy mask in room). They should focus on useable amenities. The room A/C is loud (set off my Apple Watch loud noise alert) and the bed is extremely squeaky. The iron is a flimsy, unusable appliance. You have to go to the front desk to get ice or use a microwave. There are no mini fridges in the room. The only table in the room was taken over for the red light mask promotion. We paid extra for a "breakfast included" rate to find out at check-in that they do not offer it, despite having a new restaurant (still waiting on my refund of the difference). Check-in was a nightmare as they didn't know how to transfer our prepayment from Hotels.com. On the plus side: the the lighted bathroom mirror is very cool as is the indoor pool. The staff was friendly and tried very hard to help with our issues but weren't trained well enough to do so (or not given the authority). Maybe once they've been re-opened longer, things will get better?
