Sonesta Select Columbia

The room looked nice, fairly modern. The bedding wasn't in the best condition at first, so I requested housekeeping change it completely. Once that was done I had no more issue with the bed. The room had air conditioning, however, any items left near it were noticeably damp later on. I'd describe the room as uncomfortably humid. Free Wi-Fi was included but the connection went down quite a few times. We didn't swim in the indoor pool but we took a look at it appeared okay. Parking was free and had many available spots.

Handicapp room was unacceptable. No bars to lift from tub or toilet. Toilet was the lowest toilet I've seen in my life. I had to turn to face the rear of the toilet to be able to stand up. You can purchase microwave food in a shop, however there is no microwave. :-). A few staff were very friendly, the rest were not.

1) Toilet runs every 10 mins... 2) Carpet needs real deep cleaning ( not just maid level) 3)Wardrobe closet needs waxing... (cleaning) 4) Missing clock raido in room 5) Bathroom tiles and thresh hold crack badly 6) Shower curtain rod is falling apart, show curtian install incorrectly, I reinstall it... 7) **NIT** but access panel for the shower pluming fell off ( reinstalled that also) I stay in this hotel at least 2 to 3 times a month.. I did inform last two desk agents who did nothing to fix the matter.... skip telling the desk agent and just wrote the review. Next time I will make sure that I get a better room... ( BTW 4th floor room 438 was in excellent shape) two times ago when I stayed there... Please update and fix room 204

Very nice hotel for the price. Good location. Friendly staff. Planning to stay again for our next Maryland concert trip if available.

My only complaint is the carpet in the hallways is very dirty. Very safe area and a great value.

Clean rooms

Didn’t do the breakfast but I saw a lot of people eating. Over all everything was great!

Exceptional

The place was great for overnight. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. They said the pool was open, but when I checked on it, I did not seem welcoming. Breakfast is made to order, and super expensive, no free coffee to go. But there were many other eating options nearby. And it wasn’t to far from the 95 corridor. I would stop again.

Made to order breakfast is advertised but since there is only one front desk agent on staff in the mornings it took me over 25 minutes just to get coffee made. So really unless you have a lot of time there is no breakfast. also there is no starbucks on site - the hotel serves starbuck coffee but no actual starbucks store is there on site. however staff was very helpful and respectful and did there best to accomodate us.

Room was completely overwhelmed with dampness and airfreshners to disguise the odor
