The Lodge at Cloudcroft

I just loved it! The room was adorable. I saw a deer with her fawn! I will always stay here when I have to go to Alamogordo.

All was awesome. Enjoyed the cooler weather plus the Lodge well taken care of!

I love the lodge . Restaurant staff was great. Front desk on Saturday was anything but freindly. That evening the check engine n was great ! Sunday morning great! Breakfast and ck out was very helpful and pleasant. Maybe Saturday day person was having a bad day.

No provided breakfast which was a shame, otherwise a nice hotel. Would stay there again.

The issue was with my room. Very stained carpet and wallpaper. And the room had an overwhelming musty or dusty quality to the air. Perhaps coming from the air conditioner? It was causing me serious breathing problems so I had to cut my 3 night stay to just 1 night. The staff was understanding of me needing to check out early due to this issue though and they did refund the 2 unused nights. I wanted to like this lodge, but it needs some renovation and deep cleaning in at least some of the rooms.

We love staying in historic inns and this one was nice. There were pictures and information about the history of the lodge. Our room was very large with beautiful mission furniture. We were provided with bottled water. The bathroom was adequate, but there was very little water pressure. Our room had two windows. One looked into a storage area with some pots and other junk. That was disappointing. The other window looked out to the pool. The pool is very small but looked clean. We did not go in. The restaurant was closed. Only the bar was open, but it had very limited choices of food. The front porch is filled with nice chairs and tables. It was a great place to sit and relax. The porch overlooks the pond& fountain with the mountains off in the distance. The staff was very friendly.

It’s a historic building that has been nicely kept for its age but it has some worn areas. Take a personal fan in warm weather months, our in-room AC unit was pretty weak.

The lodge has no elevator but the staff was always watching to see if they could assist you with the stairs…The pool was well maintained and my wife and I loved it.

You can observe that the Lodge was once a beautiful place. Poor maintenance has led to a less that good experience. The carpet in our room had numerous stains. The mini split fan was going out make a not nice noise. Carpets throughout the Lodge were worn and thread bare. If they started fixing things and updated it could be a special place once again.

Nice historical hotel. I did not care to much for carrying our luggage up to the 3rd floor using the steps, no elevator. Our room was small but manageable. Carpet in our room was stained, needed shampooing. Water pressure in the shower was very low, very little water

Short staffed. Needed to mow the golf course badly.

My husband and I stay here every few months. It’s always perfect!

Great stay but beginning to show its age

Loved the location so nice to walk across the street to the golf course. It was nice having a restaurant on site. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

It was a grand hotel but now tried old hotel would not recommend
