Baymont by Wyndham Barstow Historic Route 66

Do not stay here in the summer at least! The lobby was so warm when I walked in which should have been my clue. I got into my room and no air was on. Meanwhile its was 112 degrees outside. So I turned on the air and took a cold shower. The shower handle was leaking the door did not shut correctly. Very dated hotel. The room never did cool down the hallway was even very warm. Even the furniture in my room was very warm. The area was not a good area. A lot of poverty and homeless. Just a few fast food places to eat. I stopped to get gas and did not feel safe. Very rough neighborhood. I kept waking up from the heat finally took another shower and left early in the am. I didn't even take advantage of the breakfast in the am due to the lobby being so warm

This was a very nice day along Route 66. Lots of amenities for a budget price! Good solid breakfast, looked like a nice pool even though we didn’t have time to swim the staff here were amazing really hard-working folks and very hospitable.

It turns out the charge was applied immediately and not just to hold the room. When I got to the hotel and requested it be placed on my account. She said it was already there, which it wasn't, I found out after the fact, it was not. It's been an ongoing back-and-forth between Baymont and Expedia to get the funds properly placed. This all could have been avoided had. Number one Expedia, not immediately charged the room as they shouldn't have. And two, Baymont, verified the card both times as requested...

Other than the pungent odor coming from the first level, the hotel seemed well maintained, room was very clean, and there wascoffee/tea available 24 hrs. I'd stay here again!

The worst part was the breakfast. The hotel advertised that breakfast was included, but the quality of the food was extremely poor. The sausages did not seem to be fully cooked, the omelet was strange and unappetizing, the bread was not fresh, and the coffee tasted terrible. If this is the quality of breakfast they are going to provide, I would rather they not advertise or offer breakfast at all and simply lower the room price instead. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with both the condition of the hotel and the breakfast. I would not stay at this hotel again, and I cannot recommend it to others.

The staff was amazing!!!! The room was amazing and the food was perfect! To me the bed was just a tad hard for me but that’s just ne N/a

We enjoyed our stay at Baymont Barstow. The room was well stocked and neatly arranged.

Breakfast was not so good. The motel was short staffed, and the guy trying to replenish the breakfast food was being called away to help at the Front Desk(Check out - customers)....... I felt bad for him! I liked that you had a pool! The hotel was quite clean!! You could tell that the 2nd bed in our room was more or less just 'crammed' in the room. Not alot of room to move around in.

Maria knows my wife gets cold and I get hot so Maria made sure my wife had her extra blanket in the room waiting for her! What a touch of class! The amenities I gave an average score because I really don't know if they are good or bad. Our stays are all about doctor visits so we leave early in the mornig and return only to sleep in the night. Basically we don't use anything but the bed and the WIFI to check my email. We will be back in 90 days or less.

This property was really nice, clean, and maintained but I felt like it was the nice area in the middle of a rundown area. Parking was very available and felt safe. Breakfast was continental and did not vary between days. If you’re staying for fore than a day or two you will want to plan on b-fast elsewhere or be very accepting of the same small selection of items. Noted no GF selections or DF options. Also, there was I saw no nuts. Rooms have refrigerators. You can hear trains braking (slow metals screeching) throughout the night. It isn’t to loud but is noticeable.

Room was too small for having two beds. Could not get a handicap room for my brother in wheelchair.

The main lobby had a very strong w**d smell the majority of the time we were there. And the breakfast was…interesting. Fair for the price and location.

That local people had to pay between 4 to 5 hundred down payment, that you do receive if your hotel is clean and doesn't have damages at the end of your stay, but it does take almost a week and a 1/2 for you to get the money back because of customer service.
