Motel 6 Bakersfield, CA - Central

I was skeptical of the 50 dollar deposit. Due to the fact that they are the only Motel 6 in my city out of 5 properties who ask for one. Of which the desk clerk was insistent of to be fair to all customers. No exceptions. Then after I withdraw 60 from the ATM he decides 40 is exceptable. The ice machine was a health code violation. For home use maybe at best. Not for commercial use. The ice is exposed when you open the access door and you use a hand held scoop to scoop it into your ice bucket. My room smelled like burnt something. Plastic or electrical wiring. The bathroom and sink lights shorted out when I turned the switches on. The light switches were on the same panel as the outlet plug next to the sink with a GF breaker. (the outlet with a reset and test button in the center of the two electrical outlets) The GFI breaker did not trip when the lights shorted. Im a electrical engineering student and even i know this is not to code.There were holes in my window drapes. When I checked out I was given half my deposit because some of my green aftersun aloe lotion got onto a sheet. The clerk tried to lie when I told him it would wash out when cleaned. He stated, "we do not do that." So they aren't cleaned. He claims it needed to be replaced. Thats a flat out lie. To replace a hotel grade sheet set for a hotel is a few hundred dollars for one set. Not 20. They are made to cleaned several times and do not stain easily. Do not stay here unless you feel like loosing you deposit

I took one look at the property and the neighborhood that was in and turn around and went back home I tried calling Expedia and they said that the property would not reimburse my money this property was barred in by a bunch of bars cuz of the neighborhood also I was under the impression it was extended stay by the Marriott not motel 6 which had ended up being

I didn't get to check into my room as I arrived there were cops everywhere and I was unable to check in to room

The front desk guy was cool The housekeepers stole from me there is crackheads outside horrible

Staff was friendly, room was clean. Outside was dirty, dog area had dried poop in piles, the disposal for waste was overflowing and had no available waste bads.

The pool was covered. When it was mentioned with a photo. One reason as to how I chose that location. I was extremely disappointed once I checked into my room, on a hot day. Ready to splash, it was covered. Said nothing bout pool closure on the website.

The staff was extremely helpful and responsive whenever we needed anything, even switching us to a cleaner room when asked. The night staff works hard and does their best under tough circumstances to keep the property secure. While the location is convenient, the environment was very rough. There were constant smells of weed and heavy drug use throughout the day, along with loud guests blasting music early in the morning and late at night. There are a lot of homeless individuals loitering around the property at night, and we also had to deal with quite a few roaches in the room.

Nothing The fact that It had sex workers all throughout the motel and they look nasty from the outside so I can only imagine how the inside look I wouldn’t even go in I deserted my reservation. false advertisement played a major part

Nothing Room was ok. Until I found a lot of damages to the room. Took photos of the room within the first couple minutes just to make sure that I showed the manger. I hope that I receive my deposit that should not go to the hotel. They need to renovate their rooms double check that there bed sheets are completely clean or at least brand new. Bed frame was broken on the side and my kids could have gotten hurt.
