I really wanted to love this place, but alas there were problems. First of all, the financial: Valet parking required our prepaying. We used our car on our last evening and self-parked after being assured by the attendant we would be reimbursed for that night. When we checked out, another attendant as well as the front desk staff assured us we'd be reimbursed, but so far nothing has shown up on our credit card statement. As to our accommodations, our room appeared beautiful, but as we settled in we started noticing things indicating a lack of care - like untreated mildew in the bathtub's caulking, and dead wasps in two of the three windowsills. At first I loved the feel of the mattress, but it was very deep, too deep for the pockets of the mattress pad, which was topped with simply a flat sheet which wasn't even large enough to tuck in. All through the night the mattress pad creeped up and started bunch up itself and the sheet under my shoulders. I'd try tucking it back in but it couldn't hold. It was a long night. The next day there was no sign of housekeeping, so I remade the bed myself trying to use the sheets as leverage. That got it to only about a 30% improvement. No one came to our room that day at all, and on the next day, somebody showed up with towels while we were napping in the afternoon. The location was great, the room was quiet and well-designed - it should have been a home run, but struck out instead.

Everything who pretty good and the location was very good.

Love it there. Only place we stay when visiting Annapolis.

I like the Maryland House. Great porch. Excellent location.

Loved the location and had two full beds that were very comfortable. I prepaid and then got a charge from hotel for $34. Parking was $40 to valet, plus tip. When I called to ask about the charge, I was told it was a historical fee that I was not aware was going to be charged. It was not a big deal. I would have just liked to know ahead of time of the extra fee. Love Annapolis and the Historic Inns.

Great location and close to shops and restaurants. Very quiet/comfortable room with all the amenities and coffee available in the morning. Would definitely stay here again!

parking is not easy there but the city is wonderful

The locations were confusing but the property we stayed at was decorated gorgeous.

The front door to this hotel made a loud crashing sound when residents came in and out all night long. I wasn’t able to sleep at all. Staff couldn’t solve the problem and it cost me a sleepless night.

Anyhow, I’m going to have my bank NFCU dispute the charge so hopefully you won’t get any money. I’ll never use you again

The pet deposit of $150 is exorbitant. I paid more for the deposit than I did for the room. The fact that they even call it a deposit, when it is not refundable, is ridiculous. I have a quiet, well trained bernedoodle that doesn't shed. You would never even know she was there and we were there for one night. I understand having a pet deposit, animals can RUIN rooms, I get it. The policy should be that it is refundable if there is no damage. And don't have an extra cleaning fee AND a non-refundable pet deposit. Have ONE OR THE OTHER. It is off-putting to say you "welcome" pets, when it is so obviously just a cash grab. We won't be staying there again.

Location was excellent. A little confusing to check in at another location, and parking was also a bit confusing.

Good location and an attractive room. My only gripe is the $50 per night parking charge. I was aware of it in advance but iI wasn’t able to find an alternative garage nearby. Just be aware that Annapolis is a lovely place with limited public parking.

The Robert Johnson house is certainly historic and conveniently located in downtown Annapolis. I should have expected bugs since indeed the building is hundreds of years old. But the main entry door expands in the heat and at the end of the day is extremely difficult to open. No amenities, valet parking is available ($$). Coffee was terrible. Your paying for a great location, not anything else

Staff was friendly and helpful down to the valet that was so kind and welcoming Great neighborhood in walking distance of great restaurants

I would give 5 Stars except that I'm in a dispute with the Valet parking company the hotel uses. It's third party so hotel has no control or influence over issues with the parking company. I think for the amount of money you pay for this hotel you should NOT be having to deal with a third party in any manner. Like it or not, this parking company is a reflection of this hotel and their business, therefore I would not recommend them nor will I stay there again. Very disappointing.
